Default RIP Miss Ellie

LOS ANGELES - Barbara Bel Geddes, the winsome actress who rose to stage and movie stardom but reached her greatest fame as Miss Ellie Ewing in the long-running TV series "Dallas," has died. She was 82.

Oh, that's sad.

I learned not long ago that she originated the role of Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

I never ONCE was convinced that Donna Reed was "Miss Ellie" during that one or two seasons...Barbara Bel Geddes WAS and always will be "Miss Ellie Ewing".

RIP Ms. Bel Geddes.

yeah it was a tongue-in-cheek kinda comment...Seinfeld said that on one of his shows to try and blow his stand up routine so Bania couldnt ride his coatails. Guess...you.....had to...be there...

Yes...truly a sad week. Barbara was a great actress and I personally feel that her and Jim Davis were the heart of Dallas. Larry, Patrick, Linda, and Victoria were great...but Jim and Barbara helped make the show what it was in the early years.

What a shame to find out she suffered with such a terrible disease. It really should open the eyes of some smokers.

Also, Howard Keel, who played Miss Ellie's second husband, Clayton Farlow, just passed away in November. I believe he too was in his mid-80's.
