Default Dana Reeve has cancer

Just checked in at CNN, Dana Reeve has put out a statement that she
has lung cancer. She is only 44.
This is so sad, her family has already been through so much.
Prayers out to her.

I just saw that, too. My first thought was also that this family has been through enough already. Seems so unfair. (Not that it's fair for anyone to get lung cancer, but you know what I mean). Hopefully she will get through it. I also really feel for their kids... Poor things.

I know. It's really frightening.

I hope she gets through it. Sometimes I can't believe all the things we can do but we can't find a cure for cancer.

Yep. So far, I've known about 4 people personally that have been through it and my grandfather wasn't able to fight it, so it's very scary. He was diagnosed in October/November and died in February the following year. To see a strong man that had always been distant yet very loving fall to a man I didn't know and didn't recognize me and could barely speak hurts my heart to this day.

Love ya Pop. I hope they find a cure soon.

Thumbs down Lung Cancer

My Dad died from Lung Cancer-
He was one of the courageous five + year survivors that you hear about, but the bastard caught up to him in the 6th year, and took him away.

Lung cancer is such an incedious disease- - and this family has been under such a dark cloud, it is very sad news.
Not much that the ones watching/waiting can do but:

Donate time or money to The American Cancer Society
Give Blood
Support all walks/bike rides/ whatever event is raising money to help fight Cancers.

My Dad died 11 years ago and they have come a long way with treatment and success rates-all because of the money we have donated... but Lung cancer is one of the worst.
My thoughts are with this strong woman and her family
