Default My Reno story

The concert……….We had 4th row tickets and a great view. I was on the very end so I had no problem at all seeing Stevie. Vanessa Carlton sang for about 30 minutes. She was okay but – we were there for Stevie! People around me were trying to figure out who she was…LOL I was worried at first because people around me were talking while Vanessa sang. I turned to my friend Rebecca and warned her that if they did that when Stevie sang I was going to tell them to hush. I was hoping I wouldn’t embarrass her. She said; “If you don’t, I will!” LOL

Stevie came out and I didn’t sit once she came out! The lady in front of me was a huge fan and wanted to compare ticket to ticket how many concerts we had seen. I just humored her. She was a Stevie wannabe and had all the Stevie dance moves down perfectly. It was fun watching her. Stevie was awesome and was in true form. The concert was excellent. When Edge started, the Security Guards appeared from nowhere. They were not going to let anybody but the first 2 rows up. I was really disappointed but didn’t give up hope. There were girls who were propositioning Security and I saw one man try and pay them off. None of that worked for them. I just quietly stood by one of the guards and told him I wasn’t going to try and go through him, I just wanted to take pictures. He said that I wasn’t the one he was worried about (there was a tall redhead and a short girl with a hat on that were causing a stir.) I just stood there waiting for my chance to go up to the stage. All of a sudden the lights went out and I heard the Guard say…”go on.” I couldn’t believe what I had heard and said “what?” He said; “go on through.” I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!!! My patience paid off. When I got to the stage area, I just went for the middle. I asked the girl in front of me if I could get around her and take a picture. She said; “sure go on up there.” I found myself at the base of Stevie’s microphone!!!!! I had never been so close to her! It was awesome. I was so excited I was shaking so some of pictures didn’t turn out as good as I would have liked. A lady in a wheelchair squeezed her way next to me and had her picture taken with Stevie in the background. She was so excited – it was cute. After Beauty and the Beast the whole band came to the front and I took their picture. When the house lights came up, I just stood there and couldn’t believe how awesome I was feeling. I looked around for Rebecca because she had no idea where I had gone! She was still in our seats. I wanted her to see where I was!!!

The bad part: Well, the girls who were coming on to the guards…..they made it up to the front also and were pretty hateful to this girl who was on the other side of the lady in the wheelchair. There was also this girl on the other side of me who kept yelling at Stevie to sing Storms. I knew it wasn’t going to happen so I took a risk and touched the girl’s arm and said; “Please just let Stevie sing.” I didn’t know if she was going to hit me or not! But I just wanted to hear Stevie sing. Well, a little bit later she whispered to me; “Thanks for putting me in check so we could hear Stevie.” WHEW!! I was safe on that one! After the concert, the bullies were trying to start something with the other girl again. She just flipped them off and walked off. I’m glad that was the end of it!

It’s a concert I’ll never forget! 

Nice review, thank you. Awesome the guard let you up. I guess my technique of flipping off the guard who's blocking me isn't the best....
What's up with Reno? It seems to be kind of an aberrant place. Heh, my dad's from the sierra valley, and some of my relatives live in reno...makes sense...
Glad you had a good time and got to go up front! Various bitchez notwithstanding...

Exclamation Glad ya had a fun time...

ya Tulsan (Man, I miss Tulsa & my ol' stomping grounds!) sounded like had major rockin' fun...Cool for the security to let ya up front to enjoy Stevie up close.

Maybe one of these centuries Stevie will return to play a solo show here in Oklahoma...Be it Tulsa or OKC I will most definitely be there.

Yes, maybe when Tulsa gets the new downtown arena done, we will get to be Stevie's host! :-)

I would like to see a concert in the new arena in downtown T-Town, So I can compare it to OKC's Ford Center.

Havent seen a concert in downtown Tulsa since I saw a few at the Brady Theater (aka 'Ol Lady on Brady) in 1990-1991.

Great review!!! I'm so glad you were able to get up front!!! And yes, I remember the lady yelling for Stevie to sing Storms. I was so annoyed, but of course, I was dealing with my own problems! lol.
