Default Wedding Crashers

Anyone else seen it yet? We went last night. I was still laughing like an idiot as we were leaving theater. Owen Wilson did not annoy me at all - which is odd for me. He was actually kind of cute a few time. Vince Vaughn is the king. I love this man. He makes me laugh so hard.

The ending is syrupy gooey goodness, of course, but it's a small price to pay for the laughs I got the entire way through, IMO. The grandmother was hilarious (I almost pissed myself when she started talking about FDR & Eleanor at the dinner table), and the female love interests are very good (esp. the nutso one.) The cameo by Farrell was icing on the cake.

No, but I totally want to, because I think Owen Wilson is hilarious. Thanks for the recommend. Oh, and welcome back, tosser.

I'd be willing to bet my bank account that Krista has seen it.

Twice. (Although one time I used a gift card.)

I thought it was hysterical. The dinner table scene, the hunt, and the "mmmmmmotorboat" were priceless.

I loved it, but I love all of those films. The dinner scene was PRICELESS. I was going to see it no matter what for my boyfriend Bradley Cooper, who played the asshole fiancee. I plan on seeing it again, and not just because of my monster girl crush on Rachel McAdams.

My roommate has never seen Old School, which is beyond my imagination. We're watching it tonight, so that she can understand what I'm talking about when I tell her that I thought we were in the trust tree, in the nest.

You see so many unusual films, Hayles.

Do you often read Tim Dirks' articles on FilmSite.org?

I used to love reading road maps, county maps, state maps, interstate maps -- maps of all sorts. I've always been fascinated with the metaphor of the road, & its psychic representation of the wanderjahre.

I have a HUGE collection of maps, by the way.

Am I weird because I didn't love it?
Maybe I was setting myself up for disappointment cos I love Owen and Vince so much. I think I just found their characters, well, a bit too sleazy I guess, so I wasn't rooting for them. I much prefered Dodgeball, Starsky & Hutch, Old School and the Shanghai films (which had the same director as WC). It's waaay too long as well.
Weird to see Shannon from Home & Away (Aussie soap fans will know what I mean) stealing the show from Christopher Walken though.
Oh and the Will bit is awesome, but then I worship him.

Loved it! I didnt even find the ending cheesy and I thought I would what with the obvious build-up. Owen and Vince were great! Isla Fisher was hilarious...odd to think she was on Home and Away! All I can say is if you havent seen it, give it a chance, its PIMP funny.

Oh but it is really long...boyfriend missed work because of it...whoopsies.

Yes. Yes, you are weird, Sharon. Very weird.

I think I liked Old School a teeny bit more, but Wedding Crashers was tons funnier than Dodgeball or S&H, IMO. They are sleazy at times, I'll give you that - the Purple Heart thing was really bad.

But come on - the dinner table? Grandma calling Eleanor Roosevelt a rug muncher? Vince's face when the chick was grabbing his nads under the table? John becoming depressed - his answering machine "Hi, it's John.....whatever." The "touch" football game? OK. I'll stop.

Old School and Didgeball are absolute classics. They are "must own" dvds.

As for Wedding Crashers, I havent seen it yet but I am dying to.

Seriously, or are you just being sarcastic? My little sister Tracy recently told me that when she and her friends Stacey and Sarah were in high school, they would get dressed up, find random banquet halls that were hosting wedding receptions, and just walk in while everyone was drinking and dancing! Free drinks and lots of hot guys all dressed up, etc. Generally, since my sister and her friends are pretty cute themselves, no one ever grilled them on whether or not they actually belonged there, .

I do want to see this movie, by the way. It looks funny!

I wear my badge of weirdness with pride I'll have you know!
Yeah, there were lots of funny stuff, I guess I need to see it again. My love for Vince and Owen remains no matter what.
But I can't believe you called Owen Wilson annoying though!
