Default I can't post material from another message board...

but I can post a link, right?

I'm wondering what y'all would say to this person's post-http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005207/board/reply/23149218

I honestly could not think of a thing to say to this person. I think you can only view this if you have an account with IMDB, though. I was thinking that for those who don't, I could copy the post into Word and then attach it, but then wouldn't that be pretty much the same thing as posting the message here (and that's against board guidelines)?

I would say that our servicemen and women are admirable and deserve our respect and support. However, we were not attacked by Iraq, and our presence over there is not to protect us, as she stated. She is young, and probably takes the criticism of the war as personal attacks against her father.

I think that's a good thing to say. But I guess she would take most any criticism it the wrong way, as you said. She just seemed so innocent and had such good intentions that I thought Why should I argue with anything she's saying? But of course I cringed when she asked why anyone cares about politics. I'm aware that I'm a broken record, but I always want to say, "What if you were gay and being told you couldn't get married and it meant a lot to you to get married? Then wouldn't you care about politics?"

And I cringe so much whenever someone mentions "Have You Forgotten?" Like this person, Darryl Worley is really under the impression that the war is actually about 9/11.

I'd say that her beliefs and opinions are based more on the fact that she has more of a personal and emotional involvement in the situation than a good grasp of the facts.
