Default Taku's posted another tour update

Again, I hope he doesn't mind that I'm pasting over here:

Taku

Well, the three weeks of Stevie Nicks touring with Don Henley finally came to a close and we have now embarked on Stevie's solo tour, the "Gold Dust Tour."

After three days of regrouping and rehearsing in Grand Rapids, MI., we managed to add another hour to the setlist and have had a successful couple of shows. Vanessa Carlton is now travelling with us and opening up for Stevie. What a talent! She has a beautiful voice, is an impressive pianist, and a prolific songwriter well beyond her years. Vanessa says that she is thrilled to be out here with Stevie, who she considers an icon.

Stevie continues to be not only in high spirits, but top-notch vocal form and bursting full of energy. For those of you who have not yet come out to see a show on this tour, I hope you get a chance... it's really a great show!

To all the Stevie Nicks fans out there waiting for me to post pictures from the tour on my website, please be patient! I want to have enough quality photos so that I can compile them into a "Stevie Nicks Tour" gallery. In the meantime, I have posted a couple new photos in the "Promo Shots" section of the Photo Gallery taken of my new rig for this tour. These photos were taken by Jim Thompson, a great photographer and true Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks fan. Thanks Jim!

Hope to see you guys out there on the road this summer!

All the best.
Taku

And this one too:

Hello Taku. Just wondering how you are liking the GOLD DUST TOUR so far?

I have read reviews, and the fans are really loving that Stevie has been doing "Been a long time" by Led Zeppelin. I cannot wait to hear that. Also glad to hear that she decided to keep "Circle Dance" in the set.

Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You? is one of my all time favorite Stevie songs, and I'm glad it's made a return..especially in light of the problems in Africa, so I think it's great she's raising awareness for that.

I move to California in about two weeks, and I'm planning on seeing the Anaheim show in July...the Henley/Nicks show in Atlanta was amazing. Have you met Vanessa Carlton? Do you know how she's liking touring with Stevie so far?
And I must say while I loved the tour with Don, I thought it was fun and a cool idea..it's great to have Stevie back, all to ourselves!! Haha

Just wondering your thoughts so far on the Gold Dust Tour

Chris

I've been having a great time on the Gold Dust tour. We definitely have a ball rocking out to Led Zeppelin every night! All the guys are big Zeppelin fans, and sometimes we just chill out in the dressing room before the show blasting Kashmir or watching a dvd of them.

Also, it's nice to be able to play a full-length set now that we are on the solo tour. Vanessa Carlton is great. An amazing talent who is seasoned well beyond her years... someone who I think will be around for a long time. Vanessa is actually on the same tour bus as I am, so we have had a chance to have a few conversations. She is really nice... quiet, but really cool. She is definitely an artist and is artistic, but also very down to earth. Vanessa said that she is thrilled to be out here opening for Stevie... she has the utmost respect for Stevie and considers her an icon.

"Has Anyone Ever Written..." is an amazingly emotional and poignant song. For me, the build is so dramatic. By the time the bridge comes in where I play the timpani part, the song is so captivating. As all of you Stevie fans know, she absolutely commands the stage.

Great to hear that you will be at Anaheim. The Pond is a great venue. I just played there with Bette Midler in December... a very special show in that my parents flew in from Japan to see it, and Pink came out onstage to sing Happy Birthday to Miss M.

All the best!
