Default 30 something row back...and I STILL got to touch her!!!

First of all, you must read my bad tickets incident that I posted on the BN board a while back...http://buckinghamnicks.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1042

Detroit...

So, my mom and I get to the show, with my crappy left DD tix, hoping I can upgrade them...well the lady wouldn't let me, for whatever reason. She said the only thing she could do was sell me two more tix for face value. Nope, not gonna do that. So we get inside, and my seats really aren't that bad, but I'm a diehard fan...I would like something really close ya know?
I won't go into every detail about the Detroit show, cause I don't have time, but let me just say it was INCREDIBLE. Stevie was on fire! Don was great too-a lot more interactive with the fans than what I've read. So anyways, I was talking to my friend Jen, who was clear on the other side of the venue in 5th row, and I was sayin how much I wanted to get up front for Edge of Seventeen. She told me to buy a rose, then ask security if I could go up there, and give it to Stevie... So I take her advice, get the rose, and during intermission, go ask this older security guard, if I can go up for Edge. Let me tell you, this lady was so nice, along with the other 3 guards in my area. They told me I could go up there just as long as I didn't bring any gifts. I was thrilled! lol. Who would have thought??

So I'm anxious all through Stevie's set. I want Edge to hurry up and come, but then again, I don't want Stevie's set to ever end ya know? lol. She was everything I hoped she would be and more. This woman never fails to amaze me. The crowd was on there feet for almost every song except for the slow one's like Circle Dance and Beauty and the Beast which was like OMG! I personally think BATB from this show was better than the one's I've seen from Vegas. Maybe the whole audience connection wasn't as good as Tuesday night's Vegas, but the vocals in Detroit, were so strong.

Ok, so finally Edge comes...I stand against the wall during the drum intro, but as soon as Waddy comes out, I'm gone. I had no problem getting down. No one was in my way-no pushing/shoving that I had read about. I found a nice little spot at the left side of the stage, where Stevie would come first. So she comes out and starts singing Edge, and I am like in shock! lol. The closest I had ever been to her was row DD, cause at the FM concert I was in JJ. lol. So seeing her up this close was just like wow. This whole song is just like a blur, but I remember Waddy smiling right at me, as I was singing every line, and he was following the white mouth flying around...too bad it wasn't a dove. lol. The Edge "growl" seemed to last forever and it was so awesome!!!

So then, Stevie makes her way down to the stage...she's like 3 people away from me and my heart is beating rapidly...I can't believe I am this close to STEVIE NICKS!!!!! AHHH!! And then..she is right freakin in front of me. BUT-she's grabbing the people's hands BEHIND me! And I am like omg, she's gonna skip right over me!! But-she didn't. She stooped right down in front of me, grabbed both of my hands (she has a firm little grip on her!) and I yelled the first thing that came to mind..."THANKYOU-I LOVE YOU!!!!!" and she smiled, looking right into my eyes!-and said "Thankyou"...And then my moment of glory was over, and I was like, Did that really just happen?? I JUST TOUCHED STEVIE NICKS!!! AHHHH!!!
Sorry, this was just like a surreal moment for me, and if I would have posted this the night OF Detroit, everything would have been capitalized and exclamation points after everything! lol.

So, I got to touch her, my mom begged security to let her down too, cause they weren't going to let her(..but they let me..maybe I had an advantage cause I'm younger?), but she told them "My daughter's down there!" So they let her, and she touched Stevie too, and ended up giving her the rose. I saw my mom kind of trample over people...and if any of you were one of them...I'm sorry. lol.

And then, after the show, I ended up talking to Chris Nicks with Jen. He said he's working hard on getting those tour books done so...we'll soon see how they turn out.
Their's so much more I want to post about this show, but time is limited now, and I'll try to post more later.

I am so happy for you, Amber. I was able to get up front during the Las Vegas concert but didn't get a handshake this time since so many people were trying to get to her too Another time, I guess But it was just thrilling to be so close to Stevie and to go to those concerts. I think she knows how much her music means to us. I am so happy that you had a great time and got to go to the front to be close to her.

I will never forget that feeling I had when I shook her teeny, tiny talented hand in Vegas...Never! And when she comes to Houston next month, I'll hurdle seats, people, whatever just to experience that again. Goosebumps...what an adrenaline rush.
