Default 70s Music

I found this all 70s station via satellite and I never realized how cool the 70s music was! Tonight, they played the coolest jam:

Gold – John Stewart with Stevie – 79
Wam Bam Shang-A-Lang – Silver - 76
Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You – Sugarloaf – 75
I’m Not In Love – 10cc – 79
Dreams – FM – 77
Year of the Cat – Al Stewart – 77
My Sharona – The Knack - 79
American Woman - The Guess Who - 70

They give you the artists and the years, too. Anyone heard these songs? Other than Dreams of course They play some dorky stuff too, but a lot of it is totally cool.

Of course. But then, I always have listened to classic rock stations. Mostly. Wow, I haven't heard Year of the Cat in a long time, though, would like to hear that one again...

I'm not that familiar with 70s music I guess, but right now they're playing Strawberry Letter 23, Brothers Johnson, 77. How cool! The song rocks

I was in high school when those songs were popular.

hhmmmm.... maybe I want one of those satellite radio thingies, especially now that the security gate whacked off my antenna when I tried to sneak thru behind somebody.

You grew up with some cool tunes then I'm hooked. They're playing Killer Queen, Queen, 75 and they just played another one I've never heard, Damned If I Do, Alan Parsons Project, 79.

Sorry for the updates but I'm excited

I guess I should qualify my statement before ya'll start thinking it took me 19 years to get thru high school.... (1974-1977)

And most of us had NO CLUE we would STILL be hearing the stuff on the radio today. My circle of friends felt most of that stuff was ... highly disposable. When we hung out together we listened to Led Zepplin, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Creedence Clearwater and Pink Floyd. When I was alone with my transistor, I listened to the stuff you listed. I refer to it as "AM pop." Those days there were still a lot of AM stations that played songs like Green Eyed Lady and The Night Chicago Died. Well they make good Karaoke songs.

....'scuze me while I wrap a blanket and shawl around me as I'm sitting here in my rocking chair. Whadyasaysonny?Icanthearyou!

Laura
...who will still be listening to Abba in her retirement years...

I soooo want to get this station. Just to hear the song that exists called Popcorn by Hot Butter.
I never really get enough Abba in my life, either...

I was playing cards last night and asked everyone if they wanted to hear ABBA. No one did. Sigh... So, I will listen to ABBA tomorrow then! Screw them all! Tonight was cards while watching Golden Girls. Now that makes for a fun night!

What kind of strange beasts would not want to hear Abba? Unless, maybe, they had been listening to Abba all day already?

Amber, it's like the sound of popcorn being popped, but put to music. Somebody's earning royalties for that..

That's frickin awesome!!!! I've got to hear that! Still, there's lots of other weird songs from the seventies I'm sure I haven't heard. You really lucked out with that find!

Okay, now I don't feel so bad... there's another "senior citizen" here.
You know, 20 years ago, we used to joke about the 70s and said it was "the time that taste forgot." Now everybody is totally diggin on the 70s. So, have you bought your Greatest Sounds of the 70s box set yet?
