Default Ethics

This story cracked me up - mostly because of the last line. I always knew Junior high kids were evil

-------------

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ It turns out journalists are significantly more ethical than the average adult.
A rash of recent high-profile blunders has dragged down opinions of the press.
However, a study done by professors at University of Missouri-Columbia and Louisiana State University shows when it comes to ethics, journalists rank near the top of the list.
Researchers using a decades-old model for assessing one's morals determined that members of media rank just below seminarians, doctors and medical students.
The results even surprised the researchers.
The test also found the least ethical people are junior high students, who came in behind prison inmates.

That's such a screwy age. I don't look forward going through that with my lil' one. Bless those teachers......

you know... we could probably have a whole thread about our jr high years and how awful they were... i mean seriously... did ANYONE have a GOOD time in jr high? think about it, girls were all just getting serious boobs and starting their periods... guys were hovering around girls but they didn't quite understand why, yet. and how many times did you guys get random woody sitting in class? we were basically between the playground and our first cars... what the hell do jr high kids have for fun? their parents can drive them to the bowling alley or miniature golf or the mall... that gets OLD!

and think about 7th grade (or 6th grade if your school was 6th, 7th and 8th) ... if you weren't "developed" yet (i'm talking from a girl's perspective) it was pretty intimidating to be in the PE locker room with 8th graders with huge tits asking each other to borrow tampons or if they made out with a boy last weekend. and teachers are just teaching as if nothing is wrong...

come on! our worlds are falling apart... people are forming major cliques... i had a really good friend since 3rd grade who was african american... our parents hung out together too... but suddenly, in jr high she had to hang out with the "black kids" and if she talked to a "whitey" like me they wouldn't be her friend anymore.

and fashion is huge... you can't blame a stupid shirt on "my mom bought it for me and made me wear it" anymore... you had to be cool... you had to figure out what was cool, first... read some teen magazine or something.

seriously, i have all the sympathy in the world for jr high kids... jr high SUCKED. when i was in jr high, the mother of a friend of mine said she wouldn't go back to jr high for a million dollars... at the time i was like "what's the big deal? not a million dollars!!??" but now, looking back... i don't think a million or even two or three million would do it for me.

oh, so the whole point of my rant was that i totally understand why jr high kids are awful....

it's like, being jan brady everyday... not the cute elementary school kid, and not the cool high school kid...

my 7th grade honors science class made our teacher have a nervous breakdown... i feel bad in hindsight, but i remember how awful life seemed to be at the time.
