Paucity means scarcity, or lack of. FM had a lack of sell outs.

Have you read the list, or just my snippet? Musicians make money in really really weird ways. Especially the U2 one ... "ON THE SIDE Apple and U2 are reportedly splitting a fifty-dollar markup placed on a U2-branded iPod." An extra $50 for the iPod to say U2 (or whateva)? I think I'd rather just grab the nearest Sharpie instead...

Thanks Lis! That's what I guessed in context, but just couldn't get my mind to accept that it wasn't a synonym for "plethora".

uh...I skimmed the list, as is my usual proclivity. But I agree with you, about the U2 thing. Whatev.

I like a lot of them. Glad to see Prince, Bette, Norah Jones, and Bowie on there.

The U2 ipod is kind of a cool deal IMO really..

it includes a U2 poster, a $50 coupon to use on The Complete U2... It has 400 U2 tracks, including 25 actual rare and unreleased tracks..

I was surprised they made that much in 2004 actually, considering how much they made in 2003, I assumed they would be paid somewhat less..if their net income for 04 was 17.2 mill (according to RS this estimate is AFTER all expenses including managers, lawyers, recording fees, etc are paid), they would have made around 610k per night...not bad for like the 4th leg or whatever it was...of course I dont know if this 17.2 mill figure is including the said 650k+ in record sales from their catelog they received for the year 2004--so

Chris

Yes, it means everything, including CD sales of their back catelogue. It mentioned that The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac was the best seller. I assume that Rumours also is still selling a decent amount of CDs too.

Wait - you mean the iPod comes loaded with 400 U2 tracks, or they give you a coupon for $50 off the box set (or whatever) that has 400 tracks...?

I saw reports about the U2 iPod last fall when it came out, but it was just an announcement showing it was a different color, really. Didn't give any details.

And, yes, I probably would pay extra for a Mac/Stevie iPod if such a thing were offered. I was just being snarky about the Sharpie.

A $50 coupon for the Complete U2 digital download from iTunes Music Store. The collection costs like... expensiveness, hence the coupon. The point is, I believe, if they had preloaded it, you couldn't have it on your computer too.

The U2 iPod is Black and Red, and features autographs of the band on the back.

Waaaaiiiittt...I don't care about U2 - but a black and red Ipod? that's what I've been hoping for! Since they came out, I've been thinking that I want a black ipod, and why didn't they make them, etc. and with red? even better!

I totally would buy this iPod if FM did one. Or even Stevie, or Lindsey or Christine or anyone. Who cares LOL. I got one for Christmas, but that's okay I would still save up to get it!
