Defective cd?

Just listening to Mirage and noticed that my cd player emits a high pitch shrill noise from the disc. It's driving me crazy! It stops at about the 2:00 minute mark of track 7 (Empire State). I've tried playing the cd in a different player and it does the same thing. Does anyone else have a Mirage cd that does this also? or has anyone ever experienced something similar or have a disc that does this? The noise doesn't affect the playback, so if you play the cd loud enough you don't hear it or if you have head phones on. Does anyone know what could be wrong with my cd?
