Talking Lindsey in Country Weekly

Well, sorta. LOL There's a pic of him (from the Today Show) in a Keith Urban article. There is a little quote from Keith about Lindsey too:

"He's one of the all-time underrated guitar players. You hear those records thinking it's several different guitarists, but it's just one guy."

Recommended listening: Rumours (1977)

Keith also lists Mark Knopfler, Ray Flacke (session player for many, including Ricky Skaggs and Emmylou Harris), and Malcom Young of AC/DC.

Okay, Christy, you've done it. You've finally pushed me over the hump to buy a Keith Urban CD. I've been thinking I should for a while, but now I'm going to do it. I know he's got a new CD out, but is there any one of his albums in particular that you'd recommend?

Arrow Les...

I would highly recommend Be Here and then, Golden Road. Be Here is absolute perfection. I asked for his self titled album for Christmas, so hopefully, I'll be getting that. He keeps getting better and better vocally. Well, yeah, he won CMA's Male Vocalist of the Year, so...LOL

The reason I recommend the latest is because like I said, vocally, he's at his strongest. He wrote great songs and chose a couple of great covers to do. The production is awesome. Also, those two albums are the easiest to find in the stores. LOL It's hard to find his self titled album except on the internet.

The new one, Be Here has Days Go By on it. The new single is You're My Better Half. My fave song on it is, She's Gotta Be, which has a searing guitar solo. My absolute favorite Be Here song though, is on the Australian import...You (or Somebody Like You). The guitar is awesome!

Keith is best live though, IMO. You really need to catch him in concert, he will blow ya mind!

They filmed his two concerts in LA this past week for a live DVD. Ya know Brian and I are gettin' that when it comes out next year!! Hee!!

so??? Whatever gave ya that idea

Brian j.

ps-I saw the first KU release from 1991 (Self-titled) at a MusicWherehouse in OKC on Friday for $16.99, Which is very cheaply priced for an import (We paid about the same for it earlier this year).

Okay, thanks! I just got a gift certificate for Borders, so it's got Keith's name on it.

Exclamation Wicked...

I just clicked on this thread and Keith's song Better Life (from Be Here) came on my iTunes. *cue Twilight Zone theme*

Good to hear it, Les! I think country music scares some people (not saying it scares you, just sayin'), but with Keith, it's a hybrid of country/rock/pop. He's really unique. Most country stars hold a guitar...Keith actually rips it to shreds...ala Lindsey.

I like his singles. I think I'll wait for his Greatest Hits CD....whenever that will be.

Arrow Lol

They said in an article that Be Here will probably have 5-6 singles released from it. That's unheard of these days!! Also, Be Here is officially platinum and they say it may sell 5-6 million copies.

Go Keith!

I just wish Lindsey could get that sort of sales and recognition.
