Capital Punishment

I thought y'all might want to talk about this. Perhaps? It's on my mind since it's the other social issue I'm really passionate about in addition to gay marriage, and one of the few things I can safely say I'll never change my mind about--I am strongly opposed to it. I just found out that a good friend of mine supports it, and I can't help but be disturbed. I've known her for awhile and I never knew that she supported it because I make a point of not talking about it because it upsets me so much, more than the gay marriage issue, actually, and that one really affects me on a more personal level. (Whew--sorry about the run-on there!) So, I wanted to see what everyone had to say, and I'll bow out of the discussion after this initial post because I don't want to argue or offend anyone else. I can't trust myself to be mature, but I'd like to just read what others have to say.
