Because Dissention asked ever so kindly for one

Seriously, though. Yay, Rock A Little!

And, so that I'm the first to say something about it, "I Can't Wait?" Best song ever.

Discuss.

RAL? Best Stevie album ever. With the exception of I Sing for the Things, I love the album.

This was and still is probably my favorite Stevie solo... I listened to this thing regularly well into the mid 90's before it started to feel dated to me... But I still love it.

I love her voice on the whole cd... It's got a hard edge to it for the most part.

I Can't Wait
If I Were You
HAEWAFY
The Nightmare

All stand out tracks for me.

Yay, Rock A Little, indeed.

Although, I Can't Wait might be my least favorite song on this album. I don't like the intro, although the rest of the song is good. But, that intro kind of kills it for me.

I'm a *huge* fan of No Spoken Word and The Nightmare...my favorite two songs from this album, probably. I don't think she ever rocked as hard on anything else, ever. Just...greatness.

Sister Honey, Imperial Hotel, and Rock A Little= '80s Prince-like funkiness.

And lest we forget...I Sing for the Things. "I'll take off my cape for you...I'll take down my hair for you...anything you want me to do, my love." This is such a beautiful song...did she ever perform this live?

Say what you will about the production, but I'm glad she did something different for this album. The Wild Heart was such a turkey...I'm glad she didn't go any further down that road.

Argh, the only songs I don't care for on RAL are ISFTT and TTM. I actually burned myself a copy that replaced the album edit of ICW with the Extended Rock Mix, ISFTT with Mirror Mirror, TTM with Battle of the Dragon. And it? Is so much better that way.

Mmmmm, RAL.

love this album!!!

~ it was my 1st stevie solo tour also & she was phenomenal that night!!!

~ i think every song on it is grand in their own way & i still remember standing in-front of the record store waiting 4 them 2 open, so i could buy it the minute it was released!!!~ the videos 4 this album were gr8 also, i mean who doesn't love seeing stevie freaking out during the dancing parts of "i can't wait"!!!~ & does any1 remember david letterman always playing a certain clip of that video, he always said u could look down her top!

~ he he he~

I LOVE RAL! Second fav Stevie album tied with TISL, of course both are after BD, but...
I like all the songs except IIWY.
I LOVE TTM,SH, HAEWAFY, RAL, ISFTT, seriously if I ever made a Stevie mix CD these songs would have to be on it.

As for cheesy 80s music, well being a "child of the 80s" I can't help but love some of it.

If I Were You is one of my favorite Stevie songs! Other then that... the album is not as special as some of her other work.

Dated? Nah! I love this album! I can remember living at my Nan's and playing it very loudly in my bedroom!

GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Bash the other albums all you want, but don't f*ck with The Wild Heart! I'll go all CV on yer ass...

I WUV Rock a Little! FUN music, with timely arrangements and instrumentation, and awesome visuals (cover, graphics, videos, etc...) It may sound dated today, but it didn't in the mid-80s. It was huge.

The thing that really sucked was those weird NuShooz people came out with their "I Can't Wait" at about the same time, and stole some of Stevie's thunder. I remember people in my high school thinking theirs was Stevie's, and vice-versa.
