I just watched a local news segment where the US ("Third Reich" Part deux) Government lost a challenge to keep FBI records of John Lennon from becoming public because they consider him a "National Security Risk"???!!! Are they effin' stupid to expect us to believe this ****? What, Do they believe John's spirit will come back to support Kerry and help push him over the top for the presidential election (Kerry doesnt need that help IMO...After his ass-kicking of the 'Moral burning Bush or Shrub"!)
If anyone can find this article online, PLEASE feel free to post it here...That is AB-So-LUTE-ly Bullf--kin****!!! Brian "Third Reich part deux" j.

Prof wins John Lennon battle
30/09/2004 22:52 - (SA) Los Angeles - The federal bureau of investigation must hand the remaining secret files on Beatle John Lennon to a professor who has waged a more than 20-year legal battle to get the documents, a judge has ruled. Judge Robert Takasugi rejected government arguments on Tuesday that releasing the last 10 pages would pose a national security risk because a foreign government secretly provided the information. The government was not publicly identified. Jonathan Wiener, a professor at the University of California, Irvine, sued the United States government for the documents in 1983 under the Freedom of Information Act. He received 248 pages in 1997 as part of a settlement. The previously released files, which were gathered from 1971 to 1972, included memos detailing Lennon's donations to a group planning to demonstrate at the 1972 Republican national convention. But, they contain no allegations Lennon was involved in planning or committing illegal acts. Wiener, a historian, originally sought the files for his 1984 book, Come Together: John Lennon in His Time. After the 1997 release, he wrote Gimme Some Truth: The John Lennon FBI Files. http://www.news24.com/News24/World/N...597871,00.html

I seem to remember back in the early 70's that there was talk of deporting Lennon back to England because he was considered a subversive or some such thing. Nixon really hated him. I don't remember the whole story now.

I think the main security risk they're talking about, is that risk that the public will see what kind of stupid sh** they spend money on finding out about people. Our money. I mean, for christsake my MOM had an FBI file on her in the late 60's, early 70's. That's the security risk...us finding out they were tracking John Lennon because he was "subversive" and for no other reason...IMO.

![]() Don't even get me started on what they did to Eartha Kitt and Jean Seberg. It's mystifying to me why they would spend money on investigating celebs like that.

I think the reason they don't want this released is because it would reveal the source of the information. Of course, it could be redacted.
This will lend credence to conspiracy theorists that Lennon was in fact murdered with the help of the BFEE and it was more of a political assasination. It's very interesting that after all these years, they don't want to release it. |

I think if the government really wanted to kill Lennon, they would have done it when Nixon was in power. Why would they wait until 1980?
Man what a bunch of paranoid psychos the Nixon Administration had. Same thing with today's Republican leadership. While we're on this topic: Do you think any of the Fleetwood Mac members have a file on them. Maybe because they performed at Clinton's inauguration. Perhaps Lindsey has one, because he contributes to liberal causes.
