Question for ledgies..
With all the demos and such here and there out and about... Which ones, if you compare them to the final recorded versions, are actually BETTER than the final difinitive recorded versions? The demo of Save Me comes to mind for me... What say you? Thoughts? MikeBangle |

I agree with Smile At You. I think the RTTG demo is slightly better, if only for the layered voices, though Stevie's vocal on the album is great. I'll add The Tower, though I do like Goodbye Baby. SOTM is one of the best piano demos, though again I like the album version almost as much. I like the angry Gypsy that's done with the Heartbreakers even more than the Mirage version. And if we're including solo, I'll add Greta, Jane, Love Is, and one I just forgot.

I actually prefer the demo version of Think About It (from the Rumours remaster) to the Bella Donna version, since it's a little more upbeat and more rock than the version on BD.

the Think About It and Planets of the Universe demos from the Rumours reissue are far superior to their final products. Especiall Planets, that demo just really kicks the ass of the final product.
But Smile At You, yes like many of you I fell in love with that angry demo and that's what my hopes were for when I heard it would be on SYW, and for like a moment i was really diaspointed but have grown to like what Lindsey did even better then the demo, but I still often listen to that demo. But the new Smile At You is great.

Ah, the 'angry' demo of "Smile At You" has a lot of more power in the performance (yes, even the vocal performance) than the released Say You Will version. I would think that's the only case... since in most of the demos, the final product is actually better.

This probably isn't a popular opinion, but the GDW demo on the Rumours re-issue is just so gorgeous. The one thing that I kinda dislike about GDW is how dark it is. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I'm in that mood. But the bit of IYEDB at the end is just gorgeous and it turns it back into a Dreams, SS styled thing.
