Digital camera and airports question

Ok I am leaving on my big trip tomorrow. I am flying and this is my first time with my digital camera. I just bought a high speed secure digital card.
I just want to know if anyone has experience with going through the x-ray machines. Is it safe for my camera and card to go through? I would hate to pay $100.00 for a card and have it be ruined
