Angry Why isn't she being charged?!

Everyone else is being charged with abusing the prisoners, with the exception of this sow, Lynndie England. If you recall, she's the woman in the photos who's yanking a leash that tied around the neck of a naked Iraqi. She's the one pointing at the naked Iraqi's, giving the tumbs up, and smiling. So far, they haven't charged her; they simply transferred her to another post!! Read this and you'll see what kind of a sick individual she is:

Racism, Imperialism, and Iraq

Good ol’ girl who enjoyed cruelty

By SHARON CHURCHER in Fort Ashby

May 7, 2004

POINTING crudely at the genitals of a naked, hooded Iraqi, the petite brunette with a cigarette hanging from her lips epitomised America’s shame over revelations US soldiers routinely tortured inmates at Abu Ghraib jail near Baghdad.

Lynndie England, 21, a rail worker’s daughter, comes from a trailer park in Fort Ashby, West Virginia, which locals proudly call “a backwoods world”.

She faces a court martial, but at home she is toasted as a hero.

At the dingy Corner Club Saloon they think she has done nothing wrong.

“A lot of people here think they ought to just blow up the whole of Iraq,” Colleen Kesner said.

“To the country boys here, if you’re a different nationality, a different race, you’re sub-human. That’s the way girls like Lynndie are raised.

“Tormenting Iraqis, in her mind, would be no different from shooting a turkey. Every season here you’re hunting something. Over there, they’re hunting Iraqis.”

In Fort Ashby, in the isolated Appalachian mountains 260km west of Washington, the poor, barely-educated and almost all-white population talk openly about an active Ku Klux Klan presence.

There is little understanding of the issues in Iraq and less of why photographs showing soldiers from the 372nd Military Police Company, mostly from around Fort Ashby, abusing prisoners has caused a furore.

Like many, England signed up to make money and see the world. After her tour of duty, she planned to settle down and marry her first love, Charles Graner.

Down a dirt track at the edge of town, in the trailer where England grew up, her mother Terrie dismissed the allegations against her daughter as unfair.

“They were just doing stupid kid things, pranks. And what the Iraqis do to our men and women are just? The rules of the Geneva Convention, do they apply to everybody or just us?” she asked.

She said she didn’t know where her daughter was being held, but had spoken to her on the phone.

“She told me nothing happened which wasn’t ordered by higher up,” she said.

“They are trying to pin all of this on the lower ranks. My daughter was just following orders. I think there’s a conspiracy. “

A colleague of Lynndie’s father said people in Fort Ashby were sick of the whingeing.

“We just had an 18-year-old from round here killed by the Iraqis,” he said.

“We went there to help the jackasses and they started blowing us up. Lynndie didn’t kill ‘em, she didn’t cut ‘em up. She should have shot some of the suckers.”

Six soldiers from the 372nd are facing court-martial.

The commander of the prison service in Iraq, Brigadier-General Janis Karpinski, 50, has been suspended from duty and is expected to be charged.

Colleagues of the tough, super-fit officer last night described her as a woman with one mission – to raise her own profile.

Sources also said soldiers at Abu Ghraib, where Saddam Hussein was held after his capture, were often drunk – including when the shocking pictures were taken.

One colleague said: “Janis sees herself as making way for women to get to the top in the US Army. But many of her soldiers said she had been promoted beyond her ability because she was a woman.

“She was out of her depth and on a mission to raise her own profile. Now, she ll be forced to quit.

“She should have been aware what her troops were doing, but she wasn’t.”

Another soldier facing charges is Staff Sergeant Ivan Chip Frederick, 37, of Dillwyn, Virginia.

His father, Ivan Frederick, 76, said his son, an ex-prison guard, sent him a journal outlining the barbaric treatment of Iraqi PoWs.

He said his son was a scapegoat.

“He was unhappy with what he saw. There is no way Chip would do these things unless he was ordered to do,” Mr Frederick said.

Pentagon officials have confirmed that other alleged incidents of torture under Brig-General Karpinski’s regime were being investigated.

A military source said: “The word is that she was told it would be beneficial if the prisoners were willing to talk.

“Let’s just say a blind eye was turned to certain events.”

She's preggers. I guess they don't want to charge her while she's in a "delicate condition". Her mom was on the CBS Evening News tonight claiming that the photos were staged and that she was just following orders to pose for those pics. Yeah, she sure look liked she was being forced to pose, now didn't she?

I think they are just as guilty as the people in Gitmo and should be put there for terrorism. I am ashamed.

She's preggers. I see that no one is asking the question of how she got pregnant.

I could care less if she's pregnant; throw her into a federal hospital, let her give birth, then throw her into jail and throw away the key.

And her mother is a nutbag. Those pictures are as authentic as the cellulite on my ass.

I figured her excuse would be "I was in the wrong place at the wrong time."

What an evil person, I can't stress that enough. She has no morals.

She looks so evil in those pics. AND - what is so sad to me is we have done some good things in Iraq (not trying to start an argument here ), but this horrendous episode by probably around 20 soldiers of 140,000 or so (I think) there will scar America for who knows how long and belie the foundation of any good work we have done, any trust we have est. there (most of Iraq is peaceful, etc.) . So, I say put them in Gitmo.

The thing that saddens me if that this is not an isolated incident. They've possibly killed 25 Iraqi's that we know of. They've raped young Iraqi boys. They've abused the elderly. It just churns my stomach that one person could have such disrespect for human life. For someone to be able to commit those acts is unbelievable to me. And did you hear Rush over this thing? He said they were just having a good time and relieving stress! What a rat bastard. We need to leave NOW.

Rush is an idiot. Sadly, we cannot leave now. But, what country will want to stay with us now? I mean I get it is not even 1% of the troops there. But, those pics speak VOLUMES as to what the Iraqi''s and other ME countries will perceive as the American mindset. That just breaks my heart because I still think 99% of our troops are the good guys. Yet, these 25 or so were brazen enough to take pics. I mean did they think they would not get caught. What idiots. Again, they are terrorists and deserve Gitmo.

Rush is proof positive that drugs do indeed fry your brain! Can we throw him in Gitmo along with Rumsfeld & Cheney and the rest of the Bush war criminals?

No you didn't.
But back to the thread's topic: The family sitting in a press conference denying the facts everybody can see clearly- that's really tacky.
Si tacuisses...!

Well according to Rummy's testimony, the real problem is those darn digital cameras--recording evidence!

I watched almost all of it and that part busted my gut. I laughed for the rest of the testimony! And did you see the argument between him and one of the panel members when he wouldn't answer one of the questions and tried to get someone else to? It got heated! And Kennedy had both guns loaded and then some, as did the old man with laryngitis. And did you see the little kids that were in the audience?! Who the hell brings their kid to a torture hearing?!

I was in the airport in Madison waiting for gldtwmn to land. The entire waiting room sat riveted to the t.v. MANY were shaking their heads in what I thought was disgust. So, hopefully, this will belie W's chances to get reelected. People even gasped when Runsfeld said something about no one would know about this if the discs had not been released or stolen from the prosecutorial evidence room. Then that general was trying to explain why he asked CBS not to air the photos. PUULEEZE. I get that the photos will cause soldiers to be killed. And that is awful - I agree with him. But, they apparently have had months to prepare for their release. So, his point was BS. AND - they remind me of the thief who is sorry for getting caught, not for stealing. Also, didn't you love how Rummy did not even address Hillary's question about how it was strange that the Defense Dept. could not get to the press fast enough with the falsely accused Army Chaplain. Yet, this is hush hush because it looks bad for the Defense Dept. and W. The whole thing makes me sick because they knew for months that this was going on and did nothing effective about it. Now that they are caught, they are trying to hide behind the safety of the soldiers as an shield. MF'ers.

Hey guys--Little Miss Preggers has been charged!
Here's the link:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/...in616209.shtml

BTW-I knew it was bad for BushCo. when my own state's Senator, the very Republican Lindsey Graham jumped Rumsfeld's ****. Not a good sign for the Repugs if you ask me. McCain went after Rummy with both guns too. . . .
