Here's my current Stevie top twenty (one)!

1) Sisters of the Moon
2) Races Are Run
3) Beautiful Child
4) Storms
5) Sara
6) Gypsy
7) Everybody Finds Out
8) Ooh My Love
9) Gold Dust Woman

Except for "Sisters of the Moon"- the list jumbles around all the time. My top five are usually ALWAYS my top five.

I just love Stevie. For me, the greatest artist of the rock and roll era, bar none. It's just her whole package- great songwriter, 1000 emotions, the lyrics that only she can write, the solo/band juggling act, and of course.... THE VOICE!! Nobody can touch her...

I made a compilation tape of my "all-time" Stevie songs about 2 months ago to bring along with me in my car. (Tape deck, no CD player. Wah.) It took a long time to commit to choices. Luckily, it's a 120 minute tape.

I find it very interesting that so many people SAY they have this very special "relationship" with the song "Sara", yet, it barely makes people's lists; or, when it does, it is FAR down the list (with a couple of exceptions).

Ok, so here are mine (really in no order)...this should dispell this supposed anti-Nicks stance I've been rumoured to have 'round these parts:

Sisters Of The Moon
Rhiannon
Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind
Smile At You (SYW version)
No Spoken Word
Planets Of The Universe (TISL version)
Gold & Braid
If I Were You
Sable On Blond(e)
Storms
Gypsy
That Makes Me Stronger
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
Gold Dust Woman
Silver Springs
Destiny Rules
Thrown Down (WoS version)
Bombay Sapphires
Enchanted
Everybody Finds Out

MORE than "honorable" mention:
Rooms On Fire
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You
Talk To Me
I Can't Wait
Gate & Garden
Bella Donna
How Still My Love
Freedom
Affairs Of The Heart
Blue Denim
Trouble In Shangri-la
Sweet Girl

TheBlueLamp · #14 05-05-2004, 01:02 PM

These are my top five (In no particular order):

Battle Of The Dragon
Straight Back
Doing The Best I Can (Escape From Berlin)
Outside The Rain
Sisters Of The Moon (esp. the version with the choices/voices bit on the Tusk Re-issue)

The other fifteen (also in no order)

Mirror Mirror
No Spoken Word
Stand Back (esp. live)
Illume
Gold Dust Woman
Fall From Grace
Blue Lamp
Nothing Ever Changes
Sable On Blond
Bombay Sapphires
Rock A Little (Go Ahead Lily)
If I Were You
Gypsy
How Still My Love
24 Karat Gold

If I could squeeze one more in it would be Love Is Like A River
