Default Which Lindsey is best?

OK, we've seen the Rumours-era Lindsey, with all the afro and facial hair. We've seen the Tusk-era spastic Lindsey, quirks fully in the forefront punctuated by the gray suit. Then comes farmer Lindsey of the Mirage era, mad-genius Lindsey from Go Insane, I'd-rather-not-be-here-who-forced-me-to-pose-in-these-stupid-videos Lindsey of Tango, followed by trim and energetic Cradle Lindsey. Then we have ghost Lindsey (disappears for four years). Then comes expanded-waistband Lindsey of the Dance with the ready smile and philosophical dissertations. Finally, we get I'm-still-that-spastic-guy-from-the-Tusk-days-even-though-my-hair-is-graying Lindsey.

For me it's a toss-up. I like the quirky Tusk and the farmer Lindseys. They're both pretty spastic and most entertaining to watch.

ehmm... top three:

1. "Tusk-era spastic Lindsey, quirks fully in the forefront punctuated by the gray suit" or "Mari wishes she was a teenager in the seventies and could've been at a Fleetwood Mac-concert back then-Lindsey"
2. "Trim and Energetic Cradle Lindsey" or "Look, I can make a great album ánd tour without the mac ánd be happy with it- Lindsey"
3. "I'm-still-that-spastic-guy-from-the-Tusk-days-even-though-my-hair-is-graying Lindsey" "50-something putting more energy&soul into music than a lot of twenty-somethings could-Lindsey"

Then comes farmer Lindsey of the Mirage era! I like that description and that is probably my favorite Lindsey!

Closer runners up are Current Graying Lindsey, Tusk Lindsey and OOTC Lindsey.

Never cared for the facial hair era or the Glammed up hair and eyeliner days of Insane and Tango though his music throughout that time is outstanding!!!!

Personally, I don't think Lindsey's ever been as hot as he was from 1973-1978.
All of that unruly, chestnut brown hair, framing his face and accentuating his blue eyes....

But he's looking pretty hot again these days, I have to say.

For some weird reason, all of the in-between years did nothing for me.

Did I answer the question?

I loved LB with the eyeliner and erasurehead hair, which was kind of from Tusk to 1990

Long Live LB

Wow, Johnny, so you like 'em hairy? Go figure. My wife keeps telling me to get rid of my goatee.

I think Lindsey looks wonderful now, but I do like that spastic Tusk Lindsey. Absolutely love that stage presence.

I know - he had that staccato movement down in the Tusk tour

In a word... yes. (Where's that dang blushing icon)

Facial hair or no facial hair, either way is fine by me... but show me a handsome man with a head full of unruly curls, and I'll melt.
I don't even know why.

Very funny Carne, well written!
Well I must admit that I can`t stand the 73-78 look. The worst is the BN cover imo. I don`t like beards- you see no face then. So the Tusk look was a huge improvement after that. Personally I think he looked really extremely cool in the 1987-92 era. Btw I like the Big love video pretty much, in fact that was the reason I became a fan back in 87. O.K. the "I try to lipsynch but it doesn't work out and the video director doesn't notice it or doesn't care"- thing esp on Little lies is a little funny. But WTH

I would have to go with Farmer Lindsey. Farmer Lindsey is where it's at. Of course, the only live action knowledge I have of this form of Lindsey is from that video they put out of the Mirage tour that I can't even remember how I got, but oh, I do adore it. Nothin' like watching him moaning and groaning to "Not That Funny" in a cowboy hat.

Second place would have to be The Dance Lindsey, with the nice black shirts unbuttoned just a little further than is usual, and the soft voice he uses on "Behind the Music" and the sort of calmness that had seem to set over him for that period. That is the Lindsey I fell for, after all.

You didn't mention the ever-so-slightly pudgy, almost-but-not-quite-fro days of Law and Order.

I'm not quite so fond of the James Taylor-ish (long hair, no beard) BN look either, but he was a beautiful curly-haired boy between 75-78. I also heavily favor the Tusk thing, the Mirage thing, the Cradle thing and the now thing. I enjoy a good spaz.

Les, I figured the L&O period was just a transitional Lindsey period, from Tusk spaz to farmer Lindsey.

In the Cradle period, he seemed a bit gaunt to me. I worried about his health.

No one has picked ghost Lindsey yet, huh?

True that. His hair particularly was in a serious transitional phase.

I think I was more worried during Tango. He was so awfully thin then, and clearly not a happy camper to boot. I guess his overall enthusiasm during the Cradle period overshadowed everything else to me.

In my best Queer Eye voice, "Goatees are SO 90's!" ;-)

As for my LB preference, they're ALL good! I'm not a facial hair person myself, but I'm willing to let that slide. And those "no lips" of his, same thing.
