Thumbs up What movies have you seen lately?

The last two movies I saw were "In the Cut" and "Monster".

I rented "In the Cut" thinking that it would be pretty decent, because I like Meg Ryan and it looked like a good thriller. Boy, I was dead wrong. It should have been titled "In the Porn". I was shocked. Not that it was actual porn, but that it was porn with MEG RYAN. She showed everything...in explicit detail, folks. The sex scenes went on for ten minutes each and there were some rather shocking close-ups. As a thriller, it sucked. As a porno, it was mediocre. But Meg Ryan's acting was great (when was wasn't making monkey love) and I think she should've been nominated.

"Monster" was brilliant. Charlize Theron rocks. Period. I got quite misty-eyed when I saw it. Really sad.

What about you?

LOL...my boyfriend and I went on a date and were torn between seeing Love Actually and In the Cut....sooo...I'm like, "Well I hear Meg Ryan really steps out of her element in this one...lets see it..." so we did...what a horrible date movie...haha...I agree...not a great thriller...or porn...but Meg Ryan was really good...I was so shocked at the stuff they showed...and still have not been able to watch When Harry Met Sally again...hahaha...

Anyway...the last movie I saw was "Waiting for Guffman" it was hilarious...I'm now officially obsessed with these Christopher Guest movies and have been annoying the hell out of people because I keep saying "Wha happened!?!" lol....

I also plan on seeing Monster this or next week...it looks really interesting

I just saw 50 First Dates which I enjoyed. Drew Barrymore is just so cute and sweet and Adam Sandler was not his usual obnoxious self and was sweet also.

I rarely go "out" to the movies anymore. I much prefer renting DVD's and enjoying them at home...so I'm always a little late on the newest releases. But I really want to see "Monster."

I just watched "Seabiscuit" again, great movie... "Lost In Translation," excellent! "Thirteen," good, but kinda depressing. Holly Hunter is great in it..."Comedian," the Seinfeld documentary, hilarious! It's funny to hear him say the F-word, since he doesn't cuss in his act, and couldn't cuss on TV.

And for the 5th or 6th time, I turned on a couple friends to the "Dark Side of the Rainbow," Pink Floyd/Wizard of Oz thing. We watched it Friday nite - they were blown away!

Well, I rented the DVD and it was labeled as the "uncut and unrated directors cut" and I was quite, um, shocked when they showed an actual, up-close scene of oral sex... Ryan was great and so was Ruffalo, but the movie just wasn't good. I read the book and found it to be fantastic, but I just didn't think they would show any of the stuff they did; I thought it would be implied. But it wasn't.

Isn't Holly Hunter great in *everything* she's in?! She's one of my all-time faves. Ever seen Living Out Loud? She's GREAT in that one.

I saw Mystic River last month. It was good, but kinda hard to follow...

Next movie I wanna see: Big Fish (before it leaves the theaters!)

OMG...I've been doing the same thing. I'm constantly quoting "A Mighty Wind" and other Guest movies. They're just so brilliant to me. And Catherine O'Hara is definitely my favorite...she is just so amazing. How about that drunk scene in "Waiting For Guffman"? Genius!!

LOL...ya..the drunk scene was probably my favorite!! I also love Catherine O'Hara...but Jennifer Coolidge is probably my favorite (even though she's not in Guffman)...

Anyway...I've had the "Sure-Flo" song stuck in my head for over a week now lol....

Lightbulb Er....

Finding Nemo...and that was because we popped it in the DVD player last month. It was a Christmas gift. LOL

I think the last movie I paid to go see at the theater was From Justin to Kelly. *No lip from ANYONE*

I have lost pretty much ALL interest in movies for some weird reason. I love TV and if I had to put them in order of preference...music, TV, movies.

Isn't Finding Nemo just fantastic? It was one of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen, actually. I just loved it! Ellen and Albert Brooks were great together, too.

Toy Story's great, but I love the sequel even more. I can't believe it was going to skip the theaters and go right to video! Good thing they changed their minds.

I watched Lost In Transalation Friday night and it was great. Sofia Coppola should do quite well at this year's Oscars.
