Tribute Album

[markolas]

I seem to remember seeing a thread (maybe a couple of years ago) on a message board someplace where people listed ideas for a Stevie tribute album. I thought it might be cool to see who everyone would pick to cover Stevie's songs. Here's some of my choices:

Talk to Me - Melissa Etheridge

Rooms on Fire - Dolly Parton
(I can sooo see her giving this one a whole bluegrass treatment)

Sara - Dave Matthews
(I don't know why...he just seems to fit)

Bombay Sapphires - Sting
(I thought this sounded like a Sting song even before I heard Stevie said she had wanted him to sing on it)

Say You Will - Christine McVie
(another potentially obvious choice)

Dreams - Joni Mitchell
(I can picture her doing some kind of loungey jazz thing with this)

Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You? - Bonnie Raitt

Sisters of the Moon - Sheryl Crow

Angel - Tom Petty

I Sing for the Things - Etta James
