Default Something in the Air in Hotlanta

OK - I was in two different Home Depots purchasing major appliances and two different Stevie songs come on (Gypsy - Whenever I Call You Friend) just when I am getting ready to spend thousands of $$$$$

Then, I am yelling at the flooring guy and Rooms on Fire (of all songs) comes on!

Then, tge next day I am getting a haircut in a new style (yest another decision) and Leather and Lace comes on just as I am deciding.

That must be more than just coincidence.

Jason, there is magic all around you, if I do say so myself! LOL!!

I just about died two days ago when our radio station played Souldrifter, of all things. I almost wrecked my car, flying up somebody's ass-end, because I was checking to see if I really had the radio, and not my CD player on! haha!

Stevie is just trying to help you out, it would appear.

Unlike Lindsey, who must want me to crash my car! LOL!!

I was in a store not too long ago and I heard Souldrifter, and damn near died! I didn't have anyone but Sara with me, and I stopped and asked her if she could hear the song.... she said, "it's Lindsey! I like this song mommy!"

I was amazed it was playing in a department store!

Heard Say You Will twice in one day. Once in RiteAid and the other in Target.

One time I heard Make Me A Mask in a Home Depot

Default Hey Jason!

I heard "Trouble", "Sara" and "Gypsy" in Lowe's recently. I guess Fleetwood Mac fans are working a lot on their houses these days!

Hey Jason, can I ask why you were yelling at the flooring guy? Just a bit curious since I'm in the midst of a major remodel myself.

The guy gave me a "by the job" bid to refinish the floors in a rent house I am now selling. This is not my first time at this rodeo; I know a"by the job" bid means the total price for the entire job. I also know that when you sand wood floors as part of the refinishing processes, the shoe molding (usually the 1/4 round strip of wood at the bottom on the base molding) has to be removed and, usually, replaced. You can return the old shoe molding if it is not too damaged, but new molding is about $0.20 to $0.50 per foot unfinished - so, it usually is cheaper in cost and time to replace the old molding with new molding rather than have to touch up sand the old molding, touch it up with paint, etc. Prior to the beginning of the job, I discussed this with the foreman and he agreed assuring me he had done many floors before, etc. Then, once the floor had been sanded and the shoe molding removed (i.e. he thought he had me by the bal$$), he calls me and says he needs another $1,000 on already $2,800 job to install new shoe molding. I have done this process at least 25 times with many different contractors and this is the first time someone has tried to pull this stunt on me. So, after heated words, I told him to put back the old molding in the same shape he found it, which will take him twice as long as putting in new molding.

As a lesson to those who have never done this, this is why you NEVER and I mean NEVER pay for an entire job up front. If you do, you open yourself up to what I consider too much risk. If I had done that in this case, this bozo (who by the way and of course wanted 100% up front) could have and probably would have just walked away leaving me with half finished floors for the total price of the job. Sure I could have sued him, but he and I know that would take at least six months to a year and delay the sale of this house.

To relate this to Stevie (in deference to the talented moderator Johnny Stew ), just as I was about to tell this guy to take a flying leap, Stevie came on (with Rooms on Fire no less) and made me think in a better way!!!!!!! I love you Stevie!!!!!
