For those of you that missed it I am posting this here. I also want to give a big thank you to Nancy at BuckinghamNicks.net for giving me a home while I was orphaned.
I went to the show last night by myself. There was no ticket release, so I ended up getting tickets through a broker. I was 2nd row cneter, slightly right of Stevie's mic. I decided since this will probably be the last show I see on this tour that I wanted to get Linsdey to sign Buckingham Nicks for me. So I brought it and a Sharpie with me. I got there a little early. The place was packed to the rafters. A lot of people hadn't taken their seats yet. I spot this girl in the front row with perfect positioning in front of Lindsey and I go over and ask her if she would be so kind as to pass the record to him after the first encore. She's a little unsure but she says "Okay, I'll try." Another woman approaches me and says "If you get her to sign that, I'll give you $200." I say "She won't sign it but he will" and refuse her offer. Steve Rinkov is out in front of the stage and at one point I noticed him talking to "Doc", Doctor Buzz who treats all the bands that come through Denver. The lights go down and The Chain starts. Everybody looks great. Lindsey and I make eye contact and sing the "If you don't love me now" part back and forth ala the way he and Steive did it in The Mirage tour video. It was so fun! Now Dreams. Here's where I noticed something wasn't quite right. During Dreams, Lindsey sings the "women they will come and they will go" part with/to Stevie with a weird, pained expression on his face. I was thinking "What's that about?" I was sitting next to two slightly tipsy, very nice folks from Longmont. On the other side of them there was a 5'1" 300 pound drunk and her girlfreind of matching proportions, only slightly taller and not as drunk. The short one was staggering back and forth like a listing ship four feet in either direction for the duration of the show. The band notices. At one point "Mr. Security Guard" (in commando pants, no less) comes over to this sweet girl in a top hat and Rhiannon regalia who is just standing at Stevie's feet and makes her move. (?) I watch Stevie and Lindsey eyes dart back and forth to this situation. I think there may have been some sound issues. There was a false start during Come. Lindsey keeps looking over at the guy at the mixing board to his left. During Stand Back, after the first verse, La Nicks turned to the sound engineer and yelled "Up!" gesturing with both hands. There was some serious leg shown during this song. Mama was on fire last night, taking the mic down for the end of Rhiannon, doing the side kick and just generally wailing all over the place. She sang some extra lyrics at the end of Gyspy which I can't for the life of me remember now. I was relieved because she has problems here sometimes due to the high altitude. SHE WAS ON. She dedicated Landslide to a freind of hers and then told a private joke between her and Lindsey that I missed because my silghty tipsy seat nieghbor leans over and goes "I think there's still something going on with them." John McVie gave me a little smile, as did Sharon Celani. Brett Tuggle was rather subdued last night, not his ususal Mr. Flirty self. Love you guys, I'm going to miss you. Now for Lindsey. He played a note perfect show and did all the things he usually does but something is not right with him. This was not the man I saw in Chicago a month ago, or all summer for that matter. I don't know if he was feeling a little run down, mind you his performance was perfect but his vibe is off. After GYOW, I tell my seat neighbors it's time to hand Buckingham Nicks to Susie. They let me switch places with them and I hand the record to Susie and now I'm standing right next to "Drunky" who is doing a marvelous drunken interpretive dance that almost puts my eye out at one point. A few minutes later, I notice a space next to me and the thing is on the floor. Seriously folks, on the floor. At this point I start to eyeball Mr. Commando Pants like, "WTF?" He just looks at me. He only wants to pick on little waify Rhiannon girls, not 300 pound drunk heifers. During Silver Springs, before I passed B/N up, I held it up and pointed to Lindsey and made a signing motion. He nods. So after World Turning he walks over to Susie and signs Buckingham Nicks for me (on the back cover ). I am ecstatic. Susie hands it back to me and I thank her profusely. The band starts playing Don't Stop. At the end of Don't Stop, Lindsey wipes his face with a big white towel ( the first, little black towel was handed to a girl in the front row earlier) and throws it to me, which I catch with my right hand as I am still holding Buckingham Nicks with my left ( I am left handed). A few people tug but let go becuase I caught it fair and square. I almost literally get pulled over. Next thing I know, in a moment of drunken clarity, Drunky lurches against me grabbing the towel slurring "You got the autograph." I hold on for dear life, no 300 pound drunk is a match for my sober ass. Then she enlists her 300 pound girlfreind and they are both pulling on the towel and my arm, nearly breaking my arm. I let go.| Lindsey is watching all of this as Goodbye Baby has already started. I turn my attention to Stevies beautiful song and give LB and Stevie and thumbs up and "thank you." Now for the really funny part. After the bows Lindsey starts doing an imitation drunken stagger, looks over at Stevie and she does it too! They do it a couple of times and laugh. They're goofing on the drunk that stole my towel! It was so f**king cool! |

This still cracks me up! I would've hauled off and whacked her upside her wide, drunk head!
Like I told you before, thank goodness she didn't try to pilfer Buckingham Nicks from ya! I think the freakshows add to the enjoyment, though. ![]() This story reminds me of the Cher concert last year... ![]()

Hey GardenState....
You wouldn't be talking about the guy at te PHILLY show would you?? What a FREAK SHOW he was!! Oh man......this guy totally thought he was BEST FRIENDS with everyone on the crew and Lindsey!! I guess he had been to a few shows (who hasn't) and just started talk to the crew in the middle of their work, and would also try to have conversations with Lindsey while he was on stage. What an ass. Then, my friend and I were SHARING a ticket in order to stay up at te stage for our first and last time of the tour, and this guy was like, you are pretty lucky ya know....you are taking up someone else's space at the stage.....and we were like, well ya know, we are diehards and we have put in a lot of money and travel into this, so (not to sound obnoxious) but we sorta feel like we deserve this and that we are not really bothering anyone......and he was a complete ass. Wouldn't any NORMAL fan have been just psyched for you that you get to have your first front row experience?? He thought he was the king of the world and that the show was running around him. And to top it off, at the end of the night, he got Lindsey to invite him for a photo backstage after the show....everyone around him knew he was an ass, and was just like, you have got to be kidding me. Oh! And when Lindsey threw the towel at me and my friend, this guy leans over and was like, "I knew you were gonna get it becasue I got out of the way for you." HAHAHAHA....yeah right, like Lindsey is gonna throw his sweaty towel at an old gross man???!! Alright....I'll stop ranting and being obnoxious now....its late on a Saturday night and I am tired.....woah, wow that was a long post!! That guy just totally sucked and was such a downer. Kristin

Really??? You probably do.....I can imagine he is just as obnoxious at every show.....its hard to miss him!! He's one of those people that thinks its ok to have conversations with artists in the middle of a concert......and its just like, buddy, do ya really think he wants to chat with you in the middle of performing in front of thousands of people?? Totally wacko.

"300 pound drunk heifers" ----
Gldstwmn -- I am sorry that this happened to you. From my seat at the Denver show, I did not see any of it. Behavior like that just makes me sick. I did see Lindsey sign the BN album cover, though. And I thought to myself -- he's signing THE BACK of it! Won't that person be pissed! I really wish people who would rather get trashed and obnoxious just stay at home. I, for one, would have thoroughly enjoyed the seats those "heifers" had!!! ![]()

I saw you catch the towel and I also saw LB sign your album - he signed something else at that same time too but I was thinking how awesome! I wasn't sitting too far behind you - 6th row on the aisle in front of LB.
Your seats sounded fanatastic but the drunken 300 lb guy/girl - you poor thing. I can't believe they took your towel? Aw....If it makes you feel any better I had two drunk TRAMPS who pushed their way up in front of all of us with their friends to stand in the aisle so we couldn't see. They didn't have seats on the floor and I don't mind someone coming up front to get a peek but don't ruin it for everyone else and take over the whole space. All of us got upset so the security guard pushes them back behind my row. At one point one of the tramps lunged into me with her water bottle to get up to the front and nearly knocked me down - looks at me and says this cheesy "oh well". I got security after that and almost lost it. I told her off and the girl in front of me was cheering. Finally security comes and looks at their tix and hauls them off! ha! This was during "Peacekeeper" and I remember cause that song had 2 starts - did you remember that? I didn't on "Come" though. It sounds like other than drunks you had a great time though! BUT most Denver people are not like these girls or the drunks - want you to know that. We had a good crowd beyond that. I wonder if that drunk 300 lbs guy was the one blocking my view of Stevie??? was he tall? LOL! I am so excited you got your B/N album signed though!!! That's just awesome!!!! Lauren

Lauren,
You are right about Peacekeeper having a false start. In my excitement, I got them mixed up. The 300 pounders were women. I use the term loosely. We had a pretty good crowd. I'm glad your tramps got hauled off. I'm sorry I didn't get to met you, I get so worked up before these shows that it is hard for me to think straight. It was great though wasn't it? ![]() |

Someone on another board told me he signed their friend's across Stevie's boob. I don't know if he does that on purpose or if he doesn't realize hwere he's signing. |
