Stevie & Tom Petty

[celestenadia]

Hello Ledgies,
A thought entered my mind today. How exactly did Stevie & Tom Petty
meet? Was in through Jimmy Iovine? Who knows?
Love,

Once upon a time, a long time ago, Stevie said that she was a TP & the Heartbreakers fan in the late 1970s. She used to practice her ballet to the "You're Gonna Get It" album (with "I Need to Know"). She said that she met Tom for the first time backstage at Fleetwood Mac's shows in Los Angeles in 1979. Tom probably put her in touch with Jimmy, since she was preparing to launch her solo career by then, & she would have wanted Petty's producer if she could get him.

I personally hooked them up in 1979....

I was the ripe ol age of 8 after all...

I have this image of her doing ballet moves to I Need to Know. Speaking of things to guarantee a sore hip.
