Default Stevie Gave Free Haircuts!!!!!

I just read an November 1981 article from "Kerrang! Magazine"
that I found on www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com (many kudos to them!!!!) that quotes Stevie as saying "I wanted to go to hairdressing school" and then says "you should know that this woman trims her poodles hair herself, not to mention giving crew-cuts to the F. Mac roadies."

I am first in line if she ever does this again!!!! I mean really!!!!!

Don't get so excited. It's not like she said bikini waxes.

in 1987 there was a contest where the winner would have his/her hair cut by none other than Stevie. The winner was a young lady and they had footage of this that was shown on tv at the time. I think i remember seeing it on "Hollywood Insider". This must have been right around the time that they were filming the "Big Love" video cause Stevie looks exactly the same. Anyway, famous hair stylist, Jose Eber was there too. I think the whole thing was done at his salon. Stevie actually did a pretty good job. the girl had brown hair parted down the middle and just over shoulder length. Stevie kind of chopped a lot of the length off and they died it like a crimson red...stevie says " we call her 'red' now"...Even Jose said "look at the job she did....it's beautiful!" of course he wouldn't put it down if it sucked anyway but Stevie said that if she wasn't going to school to become a second grade school teacher then she would have become a hairdresser...she later went on to explain "when you have to do your hair every night for a show and there's noone to do it for you, you have to learn to do it yourself..." also she said she usually practices on herself first before doing other people's. Finally, she laughs "wait till fleetwood mac hears about this!"

I wonder if she still does her hair and make up herself

Interestingly, in the Rolling Stone photo shoot video and the Japan tour video, although she has other girls assisting her (Robin, Lori, etc.) Stevie basically is doing her own hair Iout of those rollers ) and make up (the whole Garbo schtick about the black line on the crease behind the eyelid )

I love her, and I know times change, but would you get your hair cut by the woman in Joe's picture?
Forget the Atkins diet, how much weight did she shed off that head?

you guys gotta realize that her hairstyle back then was actually in style...not to be defensive butttttttttt.....i knew a lot of women that had big hair like that....to be honest, i think she did a pretty good job if she was in fact doing it herself. the only thing is that it does tend to look dry but a good conditioner could've helped that! then again, when you're using hot air, hair spray and God knows what else you're kind of screwed!

I graduated high school in the days of big hair, and I remember the styles well, and IMO, in that photo Stevie still looks like what my ex-girlfriend the hairdresser would have called a "bad kitchen-job reject mutant." Sorry.
I did like that big hair in the RR video and on the RR box cover. But she still better stay the hell away from me with the scissors.

YES! Its 1987 and Stevie's hair looks awesome--for 1987

Id let her do my hair. Her hair seems really thick like mine and she'd know how to handle it.

I love her so much!!

Call me crazy, but back in 1987, I thought Stevie's hairstyle was hella-cool.
Especially the way it is in the pic Joe posted, or on the cover of the "Little Lies" single.

Man, at least it was stylish... her current hairstyle is so unflattering and drab.

But then, I don't buy the albums for Stevie's hair, so I guess it's ok.

I agree about the hell part.
Actually, I do like it in some photos, but in others (like the one posted here) it's frightening. Cutting it looks more like horticulture than hairstyling.
