Default Amazon

I was cruising the Amazon.com reviews of Say You Will just to see what the masses were saying about it (I know what us hard-core fans think! ) and there were a couple interesting things:

Silver Girl is amazingly popular! A lot of people cited it as one of their favorites!

I was also amazed at how many people said it was too long! Who are these people? Some of them even said they were big FM fans. Think these people read too many reviews and just regurgitated what they read?

And perhaps the most interesting thing is that apparently (and I realize these things can be faked) Bob Welch reviewed the album (as well as his own)!. He gave it 4 stars.

Ah well, back to the first two points--so maybe we're the ones out of touch! NAH!!!!

I still don't understand why people think it is too long. I would rather have a really long record that I skip a bunch of songs with, then a record that is really short! The only songs I could think of getting rid of would be some Lindsey stuff, since I don't really like some of his stuff that much.

I would say that I skip a bunch of his songs, just like I do on Tusk. I really can't stand a lot of his stuff on tusk, to tell you the truth. I love every single song by christine and stevie though on that record.

The "long album" concept is something that I can't understand either... What happens when you release a "short" album is that, if people don't like two or three tracks in it, they'll say you could have chosen better material, especially if you did have better material. This time there was an enormous mountain of songs, and they released what they wanted, even with more freedom because they didn't have to make room for Chris's songs. And with 18 songs, it's just impossible to like them all, but it all falls into a diversity of styles that's just wonderful in its own way! I love it. Of course I skip songs (I think at the time there are two Lindsey tunes and two Stevie tunes... I'm very democratic ), but that does not mean that the CD has excellent songs...

Oh and it's very funny that "Bob Welch" reviewed the CD...

I love long albums, the more songs there are, the more happier I am... We don't know if FM is going to make another album so we better get as many songs as we can get... 'Tusk' is my favorite album of all time. Probably one of the only albums I can listen to without skipping a track.

OMG! You don't think they will come out with another album? I certainly hope you are wrong... I would just die if they didn't. Or at least if Stevie didn't come out with new songs.

But isn't it pretty much certain she will? I heard her say that after this tour a new solo album will be in the works.
