Default Letterman?

I always thought that Stevie and Lindsey had the best [Edit] rapport with David Letterman, and watching them on there, singly and separately, was always fun. I thought for sure they'd pay him a visit....

But now it appears they won't. Do you think NBC struck some deal with them where they're not allowed to appear on other networks? If so, that totally sucks.

They were amazing when they were on Letterman back in '97!! Big Love rocked. I remember when they were done, Stevie started to leave the stage and Letterman turned her around and pushed her back to the mic. So, she started doing Rhiannon just as the commercial break started. When they came back from commercials, it was at the end of Rhiannon and she was TEARING IT UP!!!!!!!!!! I hadn't heard her sing it that way since the early eighties. Just great!

Stevie and David Letterman have such a cute little repoire (sp?) with each other.... it is adorable! I remember when she was promoting her boxed set and he told her he wanted to go on tour with her, and she was like "sure, I have my own tour bus" and he told her that he would introduce her at the show and then go wait for her back at the hotel. Then she was like "well we have been married", then she giggles and says "so we can do anything we want!!" Then she covers her face in embarrassment and it is the cutest thing ever!!

I really hope they go on Letterman~ maybe in the end of September when they're in the NYC area again? Let's hope!

Well I heard they were supposed to be on the week they did the Today Show, but had to cancel. I have a friend whose sister works for CBS and she told me that they cancelled because Letterman got sick and had all of those guest hosts. I guess they wanted to go on the show with him and not replacements.. lol. Maybe they will be on the next time around in September.

RAPPORT - relationship; esp. a close or sympathetic relationship,; agreement; harmony.

When Stevie was on Letterman for the TISL tour, Dave said to her, "So we've been married.... what? how many times now?" Stevie just laughed.

Now I know what he was referring to! Thanks!

That's what I was going to post. "Please give a warm welcome to my ex-wife...Stevie Nicks!"

I agree, Nancy... Fleetwood Mac definitely needs to make an appearance on The Late Show, and for all the reasons everyone else cited.

Perhaps they will, when the tour winds back to New York... though I've also wondered if there was some kind of exclusivity deal with NBC, to get them on Dateline, the Today Show, and the Tonight Show.
Those kinds of deals only cover a certain period of time though, so hopefully nothing would prevent them from visiting their old pal, Dave.

Warner Bros. might even be ready to release a third single by the time they'd be appearing... so hopefully we'd get to see them perform something other than "Peacekeeper" or "Say You Will."

Amen!!!!!!!

Although I like those songs, in the past suffice it to say they have not given a great live television presentation of those songs. But, they have been praciticing for a few months now so they may be better!!!!

I think they ought to do "Say Goodbye" with just La Nicks and LB on the stage! What a silly dreamer I am!

I just remember her talking about it on the show where she played Blue Denim.
That's when she drew applause for saying she fired Weasel Management.

I have the video clips of this whole Stevie vs Letterman thing.

Stevie's management sent a letter to Dave saying that she would not and could not appear on the show. Stevie was in Australia at the time and didn't know this was going on.

This was for Rock A Little.

So anyway, everyday he would talk about her management and he would give it funny names like Weasel and whatever else.

Then they would play a clip of I Can't Wait, the part in the middle where she bends over and shows her chest.

And each day he would do this and he even got a letter saying cease and desist!

It wasn't against Stevie though, and it was really funny because he spoke of her every single day!! And showed that clip of the video...one time like 6 times and then the last time was Chris Elliot feeling himself up with a lace glove HAHA.

And when she went on the show on 1994 for the FIRST TIME she told them weasel management was out and she stuck her thumb and made the motion. Very cute!

The Letterman appearance I want to see is him playing Big Love..ugh I hate not having everything.

I agree! They should have them on for 2 nights - and do something rocking the first night, and Say Goodbye the 2nd night.
