Talking Lindsey Buckingham's "animalistic spirit" !

The Philadelphia Inquirer has a review of Monday's concert in today's paper. It's mostly a good review. Some things I agree with and some I don't.

What struck me was the opening paragraph which says:

"MAC BRINGS IT ALL BACK

FLEETWOOD MAC PLAYED THE HITS AND GAVE THEM A NEW LIFE.

Toward the end of "Go Your Own Way," one of a generous number of vintage hits Fleetwood Mac performed Monday at the near-capacity First Union Center, Lindsey Buckingham appeared to be overtaken by an animalistic spirit. "

Ooooh, that so describes his performance. I haven't posted a review of the show because frankly I don't have the words to describe it. It was that phenomonal! I thought I'd just let other people review and I would respond to them. I really wanted to describe Lindsey, which surprises me since I'm a Stevie fan first. And I don't know how to discribe guitar parts and this guy said it pretty well........

"He was playing a guitar solo - a carefully constructed thematic excursion defined by harpooning, pitch-bending long tones - when Buckingham suddenly began to flail at the strings. He lifted both hands high in the air and repeatedly smacked the fretboard. His body appeared tense, and there was rage in his movements. It was as though a gorilla had snuck inside his body, still rail-thin at 54, and was going his own way, lashing out, manipulating his arms, generating a hailstorm of dissonance.

The brief display of fury was disorienting, if not downright puzzling, especially during a harmless little affirmation such as "GO Your Own Way." But it did what so many live performances from heritage artists don't: It pulled a timeworn and overplayed song 26 years into the present and gave it blood and guts."

Am I allowed to quote a newspaper article?
Not sure so here's their website www.philly.com and the article was written by Tom Moon. Hope that covers me!

Anyway, Lindsey was fantastic. There was one song, I think it was "Come", during the slow parts of the song, when he was backlit with bright yellow-orange light and he was singing in that low steaming angry way and I swear he looked positively EVIL! Deliciously evil! I'm a married woman!

Why can't I just think of this show without crying???!!!!

Yes he was furious and devil like wasn't he, and he was right there in front of me and he had my full attention. I think bombs could fall and I'd not leave that trance.

It was the best moment of my life. How sad, FM doesn't know I exsist, yet they have my best life moment. Oh well........

He's still exorcising those demons, ya'll!

I can't wait for my show!

Exclamation AWESOME!!!!

I read that this morning!!!

That entire paragraph is just AWESOME, because when you read it, you get chills thinking about seeing Lindsey live!!!! RAGE, LINDSEY, RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT INTENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heart ((((Janet))))

Cheer up, Janet! Lindsey knows you love him. Just because he doesn't know your name doesn't mean he didn't feel the love and appreciation sent his way. It's what keeps him going to work every day!

He sure was pointing at a lot of people. And touched a lot of hands too. Even stepped off the stage at one point. (Now THAT was dangerous....y'all might not of let him go!

BTW, there is more to that article. Anybody whose interested could probably read the rest of it online??? I don't know, Philly is kinda backwards in some things..lol
