Default Cheese

I used to work at a upscale grocery store back in the day, and I was fascinated by all the exotic cheeses they had for sale in the deli. One thing I definitely noticed was that the more weirder the cheese smelled, the more expensive it was! There was this one French goat cheese called Bucheron that was over $30 a pound! So does anyone have their own favorite kind of cheese? Mine would be Swiss. My Grandma used to love this one kind of soft sheese called laughing cow that I also really liked. Unfortunately, my mother loves Limburger! UGH!

You have to go to Murray's in the Village in NYC. They have every cheese you can think of and can't think of. It's been featured on Food Network and on other channels. But yea...I love cheese... Fresh Mozz and only fresh is my favorite.

Sorry I'm late you guys.......

I *love* cheese. But not Swiss & not sharp cheddar. I don't like cheese to be bitter. Oh, but smoked cheddar rocks!

Here's a link to a handy cheese encyclopedia: http://www.wegmans.com/freshProducts.../encyclopedia/

Great "generic" cheeses: pepper jack, monterey jack, colby jack, mild cheddar, provolone, mozzerella. Fresh grated parm over hot pasta. Lorraine is quite good, and so is Muenster. Gorgonzola or Bleu is great on a burger.

Great "fancier" cheeses: Wensleydale with cherries, white stilton with apricot, nice fresh Greek feta, fresh mozzerella, this one mild white cheese with dill that someone brought into work a few weeks ago.

Oh, and of course, how could I forget. Velveeta.

I'm actually not a huge fan of cheese. I don't like smelly expensive cheeses - in NYC my sister and I went to some fancy shmancy restaurant and got a cheese platter - I'm SO not upscale.

One cheese smelled and tasted like a moldy shower curtain. Gross.

Also I can't eat cheese by iteself (unless I've pulled it off pizza) - I need it to be with other things. Except a good Colby, that I can eat on its own.

I HATE Ricotta. The texture really bothers me, yet I'll eat it in lasagne heh....go figure.
