"Lauer: I'm only asking, isn't there a possibility that — do you examine the possibility that these things do work for some people? That yes, there are abuses. And yes, maybe they've gone too far in certain areas. Maybe there are too many kids on Ritalin. Maybe electric shock —

Cruise: Too many kids on Ritalin? Matt.

Lauer: I'm just saying. But aren't there examples where it works?

Cruise: Matt. Matt, Matt, you don't even — you're glib. You don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these theories, Matt, okay? That's what I've done. Then you go and you say where's the medical test? Where's the blood test that says how much Ritalin you're supposed to get?'

What an irresponisble idiot. My ex's brother was a paranoid schizophrenic, if only he would have thought about vitamins and exercise. He went off his meds once for a while and started throwing furniture out of his 3rd story window.

I'm going to have nightmares, too. That's the only movie that gives me the heebie jeebies. I try to tell myself that it's only Tim Curry, but it doesn't work.

As I've mentioned before, my husband just spent 6 months in Narconon. I just graduated with a degree in Psychology. I spent an evening arguing Psychology and medication with a staff member at Narconon. It's sick, SICK.

Me either. I HATE driving, don't have my license yet (I'll be 30 next May), hate taking any pills (can't swallow them, gotta chew them. Blergh), hate flying and public restrooms (thank God for the new motion detector stuff LOL).

True. But if you were set on being a huge movie star in the eighties, might you have had a beard? And don't say you wouldn't, cause how can you know.
Scientology - unfortunate, but...it can't take away from the joy Tom has given me. And what about your girl? She AGREED to be a beard, for success, fame, etc. Just as big a "crime" in my book. At least comparable to Tom's beard needings. And don't say, oh, she would have been just as big without him/that. I'm sure she might have, either way she's very talented and deserves to have been. But she still made that heinous choice, which is not so different than Tom's.

ie, I want to be famous and successful, and I will do what I think I need to do to achieve that.
