It's only a weird f'd up world if you see it that way. And that's fine. I don't feel that way, and that's fine.

In so many ways, Stevie has never let the past go, and isn't that what makes her so endearing to so many of us?

Some of us grew up with Stevie and yes, you are correct we all know the "stories" but to think Oprah wouldn't go for the sensational elements would be fooling yourself. I'm sure even Stevie knows she will always be asked about "Rumours" and always be asked about Lindsey, and in my opinion, she seems fine with it, enjoys it even, telling the same stories that we like to hear....even after all these years.

If everything has been "said and done" then why does this board even exist? It's ok, lighten up! Stevie is happy, and we are happy she is still with us, creating more music. What's stale to you may not be stale to us all.

Everyone knows about. It's history that has been written about since 1977; it's in documentaries, it's been adressed in numerous interviews over decades. It reeks of tabliod explotation .(which is the disgusting tone of todays infotainment cluture) we're heard it all, over and over again. It's done! It's toast! With fans interested only in this ****, you start to realize why the band has stagnated under the pressure to perpetuate the past.

No real depth to the pandering questions like "How did cocaine put a hole in your nose?"

Really? Is that a question that needs to be asked...or answered? So much for an insightful interview!

Although it wouldn't hurt, Stevie does not need Oprah. I hope she does interviews with more credible music-oriented/industry sources. And I hope questions are focused mostly on what she's doing currently, and not the ancient past.

Think outside the Lindsey/Drugs box! In a way, we put her in that box. I do understand how younger fans were not even born during the heydays, so all the stories are intriguing to you, but it's already been said, done and there to see and read. Do really want Stevie to just be a broken record? Unfortunately that is what has happened. This new album is a new breath of fresh air. The oft-told stories of the past are rankorously stale.

Having been a fan for nearly four decades, it's curious to see how the fan perspective has drastically changes with the advent of social media. Instead of just being focused on their music, now we are all focused on their marketing strategies! It's a weird ****ed-up world.
I agree with you - but the topic is what Oprah WILL say to Stevie... and I can't see it going too far outside the well-marketed box...

I submitted an essay too, but more out of support for Stevie than a desire to end up on Oprah. I would be appalled, watching myself later, seeing myself so ridiculously fanatical on national TV. I would do it, though. I also hesitated on making my story too personal, knowing it could be broadcast for all to see.

I had to merge these threads, everyone. I hope they merged in a way that makes sense to new readers. Please, let's keep the Oprah conversations in one place. Thanks.

random thoughts...

Itunes killed the concept of albums and records stores, and irerrevocably changed the industry for the worst . Social media -- for all it's benefits -has a dark downside. Honoring the past is one thing. Pandering and living off of it is another thing. There is nothing endearing about stagnation. The board exists to celebrate and share critical analysis of our favorite artists!

Well I hope she doesn't ask her about her drug addiction and men. That would take three weeks and she would never be able to squeeze it in.

I bet I could get on the show if I wanted. I would just tell them that I was a Ukranian orphan and my real name was Posha. I came to america after I heard Stevie's voice on the radio because I wanted to be close to that voice. Once I almost died by choking on a Big Mac, but then I saw a vision of her and I was called back to earth...

Well it looks like it won't necessarily be just a Stevie show...

Are you a rock fan? Are you inspired by any female rockers? Did you grow up listening to Fleetwood Mac, dreaming of being Stevie Nicks? Do you get nostalgic when a Pat Benatar song comes on the radio? Did her songs help you deal with your heartbreakers? Did you always wish you and your sisters could form a band, like Sister Sledge? What is your go-to karaoke song?

Rock Goddesses of the 70s and 80s
Their music rocked our world while turning them into music legends. Stevie Nicks, Donna Summer, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Cher, Sister Sledge, The Pointer Sisters, Blondie, Carly Simon, Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper and so many more. When you were younger, did you want to be just like your favorite rock goddess? Or has your husband always been enamored with a female rock icon? Do you or someone you know have a "girl crush" on a rock goddess? Is it something you've just learned to accept?
What are your favorite songs by female rockers? Is one song in particular your personal life anthem? How did their music make a difference in your life? And what would it mean to you or someone you know to meet your female rock idol?
If you, your husband, wife, or friend would love to meet one of these legendary rockstars then The Oprah Winfrey Show would like to hear from you! Please tell us why you or someone you know has a crush on a rock goddess. Please send us a recent photo of yourself or the person you are nominating. Please only respond if you are willing to appear on national television.

Are you Pat Benatar's biggest fan?
Do you consider yourself Pat Benatar's number one fan? Can you list off all of her albums and recite the lyrics to her songs? Have you dreamt of a day when you and Pat would meet in person? Do you remember your first Pat Benatar concert? The first time you heard one of her songs? How did her music make a difference in your life? Is one song of hers in particular your life anthem?

If you or someone you know is a HUGE fan of Pat Benatar then The Oprah Winfrey Show would like to hear from you! Please tell us why you consider yourself or someone you know an ultimate Pat Benatar fan. Please include a recent photo and only respond if you are willing to appear on national television.

Good Grief Suddenly, the air just left my balloon. Total cheese.
So were Oprah's producer's just phishing, and now honing in on their prized concept. or possibly they did not get enough responses to just Stevie?! Ugh, I just died a little inside.

Yeah, they were and Stevie might not make that show. It depends on the stories they get. Frankly, this is makes me a little sick.

Any people under 21 submit one? I'm trying putting my age as 20, and it's stating I need a valid age..... Might make a brief note of this is my note!

By the time the show happens, I may be 21~

You're right. It will translate into IYD sales.

This whole thing makes me wonder if Oprah is doing some sort of "meet your idols" kinda show, where Stevie would just be one of several stars in the episode. We all know how Oprah loves to dedicate shows to making people's dreams come true.
Oprah's audience screams when she hands out scented candles, so if candidates can't act like a breathless lunatic when they're introduced to their "idol" then I'm sure they won't make the cut. Histrionics required. Michele
