[QUOTE=mikebise;902888 wondered which Lifetime TV-Movie inspired "Street Angel"... That's what Stevie does! She writes songs!
![/QUOTE]

Street Angel was a 1929 film starring the first best actress Oscar winner Janet Gaynor.

Did anyone else notice that Stevie mention's the president of her record company Tom Whalley, chairman & CEO of Warners, which should end speculation that she is still under contract with Warners/Reprise.

Also Stevie says she "dug out a lot of songs from the song vault. I pulled songs from 1976 that I don’t know why in the world did not go in the first Fleetwood Mac album"

and goes onto clarify she "was able to pull four or five songs out of my song vault"

So the Album line-up could go something like this: (with lot's of vault goodies)
1. Italian Summer
2. Wide Sargasso Sea
3. Annabel Lee (vault song) & co-writing credit to Dave & Ballard adding a English minuet
4. The Ghosts Are Gone
5. Everybody Loves You
6. New Orleans song
7. "Twilight song"
8. Mike Campbell Song #1
9. Mike Campbell Song #2
10. 1976 song (vault)
11. 1976 song (vault)
12. unspecified era vault song
13 .unspecified era vault song
I thought the Ghosts are Gone was a song she penned to a Mike Campbell tune.

Since we know she might be off by a few years anyway - just because she said the song could have been ready w/FM in 1976 doesn't mean anything - As far as we know, how old is the oldest version of "If You Were My Love" on piano?

Very true! And most of the time it results in some pretty great stuff.

I don't think the reaction is so much about us being worried that it will clearly be inspired by Twilight, but rather just a gag reflex to Twilight itself.

I would kill to hear this song on the album, provided it sounds like the groovy Mirage outtake.

Should be excellent live!
she mentioned doing a song that they hadn't done in a long time, not a song she's never sung before. I highly doubt she's gonna to do a never performed song on 3 days of rehearsal. She'd need at least a few weeks!

I love this song so much- but I don't think this will be the one. My guess goes to Sisters of the Moon or Angel (which I also LOVE). Time will tell!

I hope the demo is China Doll. At least let it not be Goldfish and Ladybug! As far as the song she hasn't done in a while, could be No Spoken Word. To Stevie "a while" might be Outside the Rain though.

Stevie wrote "If You Were My Love" in 1980 during the first recording sessions with the Heartbreakers on "Outside The Rain". She was inspired in those sessions to write the song.

i actually think she could pull it off. the vocal range is low and the melody is simple ... maybe?

I thought Cecilia because of the little girl.

There's also Melacine, Forest of the Black Roses, Watchdevil, assuming she's got her dates right. How often does that happen? If she pulls out Secret Love, we are ****ing done professionally. That sounds like it was written by a 5 year old.
i hope it's belle flower. "canyon dancin' ... all night long!"

And I love how the interviewer asks if Peter Green is on any of these tracks. Might as well have asked fi she had lunch with Danny Kirwan lately.
what's more bizarre is that she's friends with reese witherspoon.

Btw, her saying: 'I think I wrote it in 1976' in Stevie-speak actually means that the demo she is referring to was probably written somewhere between 1973 and 1985.
more like 1973 and 2005.

I'm sure Stevie's written lyrics over many of Mike's instrumental tracks that we know nothing about. Still, I think the lyrics to "The Dance" are pretty romantic (even though so many despise this Klonopin-era song). I love how Stevie quoted this song in the Japanese A Hard Game To Play CD.

I'm hoping for a wicked STEVIE rendition of "You Like Me" as the rocker, but "The Dance" is very pretty and the lyrics are very loving and romantic...

The Dance (1991)
You are the modern one
I am the old-fashioned
She walked up to him
Full of passion

Smarter than anyone
We think that we are
Disappear into the night
Those burning hearts...two stars

So she waltzed up to him
Took his hand, drew him to herself
They said, "Ooh, this is too fine"
She says, "Hold me in your arms
These are the moments that I live for"

Charmingly disarming...
Turn around to me
Arms over mine
She says, "I am still here...
No tears"...

Too modern to rise above
Too medieval to go between
Too uncertain to fall together
To remain, to be true
You are the modern one
I am the old-fashioned

She walked up to him
From the dance floor
She walked straight into his arms
And the lights went on
Did nothing to hide
That wicked, unruly smile...

And the lights were on them
Well, you had better go
"Don't forget about the song,"
She said to him...
"I won't...I won't forget"
"Don't forget about the song"
"I won't..."

Yeah!!!! "Belle Fleur" would be a great choice!!! Plus, the 3-ladies harmonizing would fit in to how Stevie supposedly wanted the sound to be again for this album. I think it was written in 1981, but I concede that when it comes to Stevie and dates...
