Cecilia (Although, I THINK that was Tusk era?), Lady From The Mountains, The Dealer...

Just going down my "Stevie demos" on itunes... and those are the only ones from the 70s that I have. Apart from If You Ever Did Believe, but she's done that. xD

There aren't that many demos from the mid-70's so maybe it's a completely "new" demo?
Somebody find that storage vault in Phoenix with old casettes she's talking about.

What a great interview... A ton of info... If this new cd is as good as they are saying, I hope it gets recognized by the industry... It's superficial, but it would be cool to see her get a Grammy award at this point in her career... either her alone, or both her and Dave.

I think the cut off period is in September so they may not make it for nominations this year - but maybe next.

Exciting stuff!

She says she sounds like she's 5, so maybe the demo for "Secret Love". Or maybe "Amber".
Then again, just because she says mid-70s, it's no guarantee. She gets years wrong all the time in interviews. She might mean late 70s for all we know.

As for a song she hasn't done in years, "Whole Lotta Trouble" would presumably need horns. I would love "Seven Wonders". "Rooms on Fire" would seem like a safe bet, or maybe "Blue Denim", "Garbo", or "Sleeping Angel".
But then again, I have no doubt her people have seen all the requests for "Sisters of the Moon" - I have a feeling she would feel this is a safe one to bring back & surprise people with.
Of course, this being Stevie, it might just be "Outside the Rain".

I was thinking and maybe the Twilight song is for the Breaking Dawn movie? If that's the case could give her some big exposure, even to a new audience young kids who've never heard of her. Of course it'd be like OMG she sings the Twilight song...

I'm hoping she's just name-dropping Twilight, like, she's written a song about all the romance and whatnot in those books?

Probably clutching at straws here, but that series just... urgh.

And if she's name-dropping Twilight, all the Twilight-nerds will be like "Stevie Nicks has a song about Twilight on her new CD? I should buy that!"

I am intrigued by the "Twilight" song being a fan myself, however i'm not a nerd or anything I haven't seen the third one yet. But however based on the interview she states she wrote it for the movies so I don't think its a name drop.

Just think of all the new fans Stevie would get if she did a Twilight song for the soundtrack.

Fleetwood Mac should have done a song for the Twilight movie. The first one. The one that didn't suck.

Tempting as it is for me to agree with you, I think Angel is best left in the past. I don't know if I could handle hearing her wreck that song.

I thought Cecilia because of the little girl.

There's also Melacine, Forest of the Black Roses, Watchdevil, assuming she's got her dates right. How often does that happen? If she pulls out Secret Love, we are ****ing done professionally. That sounds like it was written by a 5 year old.

And I love how the interviewer asks if Peter Green is on any of these tracks. Might as well have asked fi she had lunch with Danny Kirwan lately.

It sounds like we have some information on just about every track on the album. Here are the tracks that have been discussed so far:

1. Italian Summer
2. Wide Sargasso Sea
3. Annabel Lee
4. The Ghosts Are Gone
5. New Orleans song
6. Twilight song (this does make me shudder - I hope it's not too obviously about Twilight)
7. Mike Campbell Song #1
8. Mike Campbell Song #2
9. 1970s demo

And from the sounds of it, there will be at least 2-3 other older songs as well. Exciting!

Well, "Forsaken Love", "Forest of The Black Roses", "Blue Water" and "The Maker of Birds" are all 1978.

"Secret Love" is about Mick, also 1978. Also, people were blown away by this piano ballad, so we can drop the "Secret Love" speculation.

1976...

Piano...

"Christian"? I think this is later, though.

Maybe something we've never heard at all?

"Knocking On Doors"

"China Doll"
