Planets, Sorcerer, and Fall From Grace should have been the singles... but are there still radio stations out there that would cater to Stevie's type of music?? not many.. at least not around the New York tri-state area...

I love Too Far From Texas and think it's a tremendous asset to the album. Stevie sings countryish very well and has for years: I Don't Want To Know, That's Alright, After The Glitter Fades. I just wish she had done it all herself instead of dueting with Natalie.

The choices for singles has always been a downfall of her albums.

Two Kinds of Love for OSTOM over Long Way To Go? WTH??!?!

Cater to them, then. Release the rockers to classic rock stations, not the middle-of-the-road fluff. It's as if record companies don't care these days and just release the blandest stuff from their veteran artists. They need to step up and release something killer off the bat, just like they should have with Stevie. It might get a few people talking and interested enough to go out and buy the album.

Ugh, that hog caller ruins anything that might be halfway decent in that song. If it had been just Stevie, it would have been way more listenable.

Actually, I think you people who think there ARE "stinkers" on TISL have a screw loose. THERE ARE NO STINKERS ON TISL!!!

(ummm...did I say that out loud?)

(yep, you read it correctly...chiliD actually said something positive about a Stevie Nicks album!)

Totally!!

I think "Every Day" being used as a first single really set a bad tone for the album... WAY too adult contemporary and not very Stevie Nicks-sounding at all.. Stevie Nicks is the "Queen Of Rock", yes? Every Day is not exactly a rockin' tune
god, i hate that song...

I LOVE That's Alright. Thanks for bringing it up. In fact I was listening to it this morning It's such a fun song and what's strange is that I don't like country music at all and this song definitely has a country feel and yet I still adore it.

But they would never play those songs, because it wouldn't fit into their "format"... All they played in 2001 from Stevie was "rhiannon" and "dreams" cuz those seem to "fit the formula" better than anything off TISL... i don't even listen to the radio anymore since i got satellite about a year ago... so, who knows what they're even playing these days.. probably "rhiannon" and "dreams" ...

And, umm..."Landslide"...because they'd have to keep up with all the country stations playing the Dixie Chicks version.

Well....the area porn store had the whole SYW album blasting through the speakers about a week ago. I think the owner is a big fan.

Why I was in the porn store? None of your business.

If the record companies chose not to release fluff like Every Day and instead released, say, Fall From Grace as the first single, I'm sure it would get some airplay on the classic rock stations. I mean, Stevie is simply not going to have a radio hit these days, that's why they have to think about their target audience and cater to them. It's rockers like Edge of Seventeen and SDMHA that made her such a success, release something in that vein and see what happens. ****, one of my local stations classic rock stations played RTTG and Come regularly when SYW was released.

i wonder how her solo career would have went if Every Day was released as the first single off "Bella Donna"??

i agree with you, dis.. i don't know why they don't seem to get it... it's almost as if it's "inappropriate" for Stevie to release more rockin' songs as singles nowadays and that they are "trying" to turn her into an AC artist... i don't understand...
