definitely it's a songwriter. Stevie is succesful and I don't think she spent everything in "her nose", as Mick did in the 80s.
Lindsey, Chris and Stevie are wealthy, probably Lindsey is the most, but I don't think there's a huge difference among those 3. |

Oh, hell, I'll weigh in, too.
I suppose Lindsey has the most money because his combined songwriting/producing/performance credits would put him ahead of everyone else. not to mention that he supposedly lives more "simply" than everyone else in the band. If Christine was still with Mac, recording and touring, she would most likely have equal to if not more money than Stevie. She appears to be less of a spendthrift with the cash. Her songs almost routinely had the moset airplay and were usually the biggest hits, which couldn't have hurt, But now that she's retired, living on an estate bigger than most small towns, I assume she's third on the list. |

I'd say Stevie followed by Christine. Between concerts and song royalities, she's probably the gross pay winner. But Stevie also supports her family, entourage, and lifestyle, which are probably a huge investment of resources. Since Christine retired from touring, there is obviously no income there. But Christine's songs are radio staples, which will be played until the end of time. They are played far more than any of Stevie's or Lindsey's songs. I also don't picture Christine as leading an extravagant lifestyle. Of course, she lives in a nice castle in Kent. But I've read she likes to cook, work in her garden, and generally be a homebody.

It's my belief that her "net worth" is somewhere between 50 and 100 million. But nothing would surprise me. I really do get an overall feeling that she's not as rich as some people think. For one thing, as I've mentioned in one or two other posts, there's some indications in an article on Nicksfix that the record company may have ripped she and the others off somewhat (they cooked the books on how many albums were sold.) Still, touring has apparently become VERY lucrative, and it's my opinion that Stevie has made a LOT of money in the last ten years. So (i.m.o.) whatever she spent, she's made back and then some. I think she must have made a lot of money from royalties, as well. Merchandising on the tours, too. On the other hand, Rumours have it that Lindsey recently sold a house for $22 million, and he must have made a LOT for Arranging/Producing etc. much of Fleetwood Mac's work. Anyway, overall I think it's Stevie #1, Lindsey #2, Mick #3, and John #4. Poor, poor John! ![]() |

So I realize how blond my first comment in this thread sounds, but I guess what I meant was doesn't the name Fleetwood Mac have a copyright??

As much as people get sick of the "drama," certainly all of those things... the money, the drugs, the breakups and infidelities... informed the music and performances. Take away those things and you'd be taking away much of the very same music that many fans say we should focus on solely.

Eventually, the courts decided that the name "Fleetwood Mac" belonged to Mick and John, since they are "Fleetwood" and "Mac." So I'd say that basically gives them "ownership" of the name and how it's used... which is, in essence, what you said in your first post. ![]()

That's what I was thinking - Lindsey acted like he had money problems. It must have gone somewhere.... who knows where. So, I would say Stevie. She has just garnered so much more outside of Fleetwood, that even with her extravagance I'd say her net is more - especially since the coke is no longer an issue.
