Nancy's opening guitar solo is long and inspired. When she busts into that opening Am chord and kicks up her leg it sends shivers up my spine. Damn does she beat up that guitar.
Everything about this thing is classic Heart at their very best. Ann hot and thin ! There is tons of great hair. The guitar player Roger Fisher is totally hot in that bad boy 70's guitar player way. Everyone is running their asses off and rocking out. Happy happy !

MmmMmmMmm
So hot!
I don't need coffee anymore, I am just going to play that video, and wail along with Ann every morning from now on!
They are such talented musicians: the guitars, the harmonies, the mando, the harmonica, the flute, the hair, the kicks, the kick-ass vocals in tall boots - it's overwhelming.
Thanks for the link, Sparky.

Yeah, I can sing it. They're not high notes for a girl, so much. My voice lacks all the power of Ann's, but, duh. Who's doesn't? Besides Strand.
I wish there was night of a thousand Anns, I'd totally try out.

Edit - Omigod! Those are some tight pants! Heeelllloooo, Roger!

That song was the fantasy song of my youth. I kept waiting for some lascivious teacher to hit on me...*sigh*...
Total tight pants. Come to Sparky, Roger.

Watch the Midnight Special Crazy. I think Ann is coked out of her gourd.
Stellar !

I didn't see it on the list! Searchy searchy. Man, coke is great!!!!

You know what song has really impressed me live (I've only heard the audio) is Straight On. The way she plays with the rhythm, which is very cool to begin with. And just hits everything perfect.

Found it. How much ass does Nancy kick on the intro? Look, she's wearing a total Stevie dress, white version.

You think she's more coked up than in the one you put the link for? Are you saying that because of the blue dress she chose to wear here? (ralph). Hehehehe. Her jaw is a little tight on this one.

You can sing along with each of them in this harmony lesson, on the Experience Music Project site. Sing the melody with Ann as your partner, or harmony with Nancyhttp://www.emplive.org/exhibits/inde...D=129&ccID=147

Eliza that is friggin fun ! I always wanted Ann to sing harmony over me. It is so fun to sing it in their octave or mine. Great link !

I made an audio track of it, so I could put it on my vocal warmup cd.

I don't know why Nancy doesn't do that long guitar intro live anymore. I love it!

That said, this video only confirms my belief that Nancy Wilson is one of the most underrated guitar players in rock. The woman deserves mad props!

Thanks for posting Sparky!

That dress is hideous. Are those little silver hearts/ stars all over it? Fug.

Ann has total coke eyes in this. Nancy looks great!

SO HOT !

Okay, Y'all made me do it. I have been on a Heart jag the last two days. I listened to this song 7 times today. I had totally forgotten about it. Please note : I don't particularly like this song. It's a cover. However, it is a showcase for the nuclear reactor that is Ann Wilson's voice. Also noteworthy, it is LIVE, and she probably wasn't anywhere near the county line of sober.
The really incredible thing about it is this : You would never expect this out of Ann. Die hards have heard this. But others never have. Just note what happens about 2/3 of the way through. Especially singers. You think she has completely exhausted herself. She is winded. She lets this vibrato riff fly and it sounds like she has completely taxed her chest voice. A normal human being would have.
Not the ANN. She hints at her head voice earlier in the song. And then when you think she can't possible let fly with any more passion and emotion, stand the f*ck back. Most people have some light, silly little falsetto head voice.
We're not talking about most people. This is mind blowing. The trills and scales usually annoy me. The girls who do it now do it with zero emotion, no thought, too much structure, and no rock and roll. It's all showing off. This woman sounds as if she didn't sing this, she may well explode. She goes from a growl, to a shriek, to a mini aria in about 30 seconds. Behold, the wonder that is her voice :

Wow, you totally got me hot for this before I even heard it. I also like that song.

Okay.

My. God.
Praise be.

I think that shifted my molecules.

Thanks, Sparky

I knew, of all people, that you would get it.

Have I told you lately that I love you ?

This is outrageous! I don't dislike this song, but I think of it as a snoozer, and I usually tune out when it comes on. She completely rewrote this song for me.
Somehow she mangages to sound like she is ripping up her cords one minute, and then she comes out with these beautiful, pure tones. And she has done this for decades!
I was listening to "Dreamboat Annie" the other day, and I was surprised to remember how mellow and sweet her voice could sound, and then I spent the day with "Crazy On You" and I was blown away by the unhinged power in her voice, and now this amazing track.
I say Karen Carpenter + Janis Joplin + Patti Labelle + WTF? = Ann Wilson

a sidenote: when I looked at your post I was reviewing tracks from tonight's band rehearsal, and I was thinking "say, these tracks are getting pretty good, Eliza, your voice sounding pretty decent." Then I downloaded the "Unchained Melody" and I can't listen to anything else tonight. Thank you.
I think.
No, really thank you for sharing it!

Okay, this is the only version of this song I will ever listen to again. Where did Ann get those pipes? Unbelievable. I am stunned, really stunned.
