Cyndi & Heart fans

How I missed this when it aired, I don't know. Lifetime's "Girls & Guitars" special. Anyone know when it was on TV? A few years ago? Many years ago? Anyway, I thought this was absolutely incredible.

Ann Wilson has one of the best voices I have ever heard and it has changed little in 30 years. Has anyone ever heard her vocal on Unchained Melody

Sadly, she looks horrifying in this clip.

I know. I think she's beautiful no matter what weight she's at, yet she always does these odd things with her hair that make her look ridiculous. And the hippie sunglasses. Oy.

I actually was at the taping of this! They do the show as a benefit for breast cancer every year - this year it was Melissa Etheridge.
I think this one was 3 years ago - it was amazing - Cyndi actually took over
the show at one point coaching Destiny's Child on harmonies - she was the most professional one there!

Paula, I believe this aired in 2000. Cyndi's amazing. Y'all just wait until Goldustsongbird sees this thread!

That's wild, I was just looking at this the other day! I had just finished reading about how Joni Mitchell came to buy a dulcimer, and how it was tuned for "California"; I found a video of her playing it on YouTube, and there must have been a tag that led me to this Cyndi/Ann video. Cyndi shows off some effortless high notes, and lovely, full lows. I think she has taken really good care of her body and her voice.
It is pretty wild to see Nancy power strumming next to the dulcimer, and Ann's hair is unreal!

"Maybe I'm amazed at the way your hair is 2 feet high."

Wow. Cool. Thanks for posting ! Ann's hair could make Marge Simpson jealous. Somehow I missed her mile high bouffant phase.

Christ, Ann looks like a bloated Elvira in that clip. And I love her, but man, that hair :[

I enjoyed that, though. That song will always be awesome.

Dude. Ann is a bloated Elvira. Since about 1985. God Bless Her. One of the best singers alive.

They both are amazing. I saw Cyndi Lauper when she opened for Cher several years ago and truthfully, she stole the show. And as far as Ann goes- amazing. But you HAVE to listen with your eyes closed because holy sh*t, the HAIR! Wtf was she thinking, bless her heart?

Lee 07-09-2006 01:34 PM

Yeah, I have this show on tape somewhere. The whole show was really good.

Lee :)
