I love your sig pic, by the way. Did that come off one of the screens? Seems like I remember it.

-looks like we're both having special moments with the Stevie gaze, lol-

A truly amazing lady.

Who will ever forget that moment? -- "This is for you, daddy..."

I'm a bit lost for words at the moment, so I turn to the words of the one who has inspired my own for so long:

"I went searching for an answer
Up the stairs and down the hall
Not to find an answer
Just to hear the call
Of a nightbird
Singing come away..."

My own thoughts:

Pride and gratitude, the devotee
And the price we pay for everlasting peace
Is oxygen.
The tick tock of each day
And the windows...
The darkest hour comes before the dawn, he said.
The dust will settle -- you know like I know how it is.
I think of you, the sweet darling, every time
The words won't come ...
A devil red candle
Burning in the house of God;
What meant so much to him
She gives now in dedication to another.
He sits unseen, somewhere in the crowd
With stars in his eyes.
She suffers under the light,
Watched
On her personal, shattered
Street of Dreams.

Prayers and love, always.

And - I agree. If my 79 year old mother goes before my younger dad, he will be lost and most likely drink himself to death out of despair, which would be horrible.
I pray that that does not happen for you. My dad has been known to enjoy a good drink now and then if you know what I mean and he also has alot of drinking buddies who drop by the house now and we are abit concerned about that.

Anyway, Stevie is truly great for posting this. I think she knew somehow that many fans care about him, his family, and her. What a woman to share this "darkest hour" with us when most want only family and close friends around.
I agree.

Thanks Amber. I've been bugging my son for months to help me with some pictures for my sig and avatar. So today he surprised me with this. He knew I was sad about Stevie's dad I guess and wanted to cheer me up. I hope it's not too self-indulgent, he thought it would be cute. (and he hated the beaver ) Let me know when you get tired of looking at me!

I could be wrong but I think she's talking about the house in the painting that is mentioned in the next few lines:

In my father’s painting
The house by the sea
In the dream house

By the water
Go my father and me

Sounds like a fantasy place... in a painting Jess did or a piece of art in his home that he always said he wanted to live in or build a home like one day.

Please don't cry. I don't feel that it is the expression of emotion that Jess would want you to be feeling, nor would Stevie.

So please don't cry , try and be like me...
Be Irish and Be a witch (well, maybe everyone can't do that...)and Be crazy, and Be Happy that you were are part of someones life...
Have a whiskey and celebrate one life passing you by, whoever's life that may be. A Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Child, Dog, Cat, it all counts and it all feels the same. Loss is loss. But remembering joyful times brings such a sense of peace and calm, and love to your heart, please try and you will find the sadness and tears.....dry.

It is amazing that a woman (whom none of us know,) can bring so many people from all different walks/talks of life together and allow us to share/feel such deep emotions. We do love this Stevie...don't we.

Wishing you all peacefilled dreams~~

Eclipse, your posts are very touching. Thank you. I wish I could express myself as well as you do.

I am so sorry for Stevie, and find it touching that she has responded so quickly to her fans even though we know she didn't have to. God bless Stevie and her father.

Does anyone think it is possible Stevie has a new group of people around her at the moment...just to me it seems like she is opening up and having a bit more contact with fans in this way, like starting to do journals again...and if this whole orchestra thing goes down next year...what you think.
