Thumbs up

This is tough, because I like a lot of different music and bands/people.

Fleetwood Mac is my favorite band , of course, and I guess solo stuff doesn't count either, so here is the others:

(1) The Doors
Album: The Doors and L.A. Woman
Song: The End, Riders on the Storm, Love Me Two Times, Light My Fire

(2) Janis Joplin (all of her bands--Big Brother, Full Tilt Boogie, etc.)
Album: Cheap Thrills and Pearl
Song: Maybe, Me and Bobby McGee, Piece of My Heart, and Ball and Chain

(3) The Rolling Stones
Album: Aftermath and Sticky Fingers
Song: Paint It Black, Last Time, Can't Always Get What You Want, Brown Sugar

(4) The Who
Album: Who's Next
Song: The Seeker, Won't Get Fooled Again, You Better You Bet, My Generation

(5) Jefferson Airplane
Album: Surrealistic Pillow
Song: Someone to Love, White Rabbit, Crown of Creation, Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil

(6) The Grateful Dead
Album: Live/Dead
Song: St. Stephen, Sugar Magnolia, Brown-Eyed Woman, Casey Jones

(7) Bob Dylan
Album: Blonde on Blonde
Song: Just Like a Woman, Positively Fourth Street, Subterranean Homesick Blues, Like a Rolling Stone, Things Have Changed

(8) Jimi Hendrix
Album: Are You Experienced?
Song: Voodoo Chile, Purple Haze, Manic Depression, Crosstown Traffic

(9) Simon and Garfunkel
Album: Sound of Silence
Song: Sound of Silence, I Am a Rock, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water

(10) Prince
Album: Purple Rain
Song: Little Red Corvette, all the songs on Purple Rain

I would put the Beatles in the top ten, but my best friend (The self proclaimed, biggest, Beatles fan in the world, and I would agree.) has all rights and claim to them in my world.

Yeah, there's whole disc of extras. There's even the new version of Rebel Rebel.

Did you see darling Chrissie protesting at a KFC in France? I almost had a heart attack when she went for the red paint and laid down in the middle of the road.

How could I forget Annie Lennox ? Her output as a solo artist has been slow as molasses, but that first album, man oh man.

Annie Lennox

Album - Diva
Song - Legend In My Living Room

This song contains one of my favorite stanzas EVER.

"So I shed my tears in bitter drops
Until the thorn trees bloom
To pluck the spiky fruit
And crown myself the Queen Of Doom."

Sheer ironic cynical brilliance !

They really are - I have to give her newest one another chance. It was just too damned dreary. I was depressed enough At the time, I didn't need Miss Annie dragging me deeper !

EXCELLENT choices . For the longest time I thought I was the only one who loved 11:59... lol.

And... How could I have forgotten the Pretenders?! I only have their first album and their singles album on CD, but I have loads of vinyl (but no record player). I love Talk of the Town, Show Me, Stop Your Sobbing, and this one that I saw on VH1 Classics the other day called "Room Full of Mirrors" or something like that. Love them.

Ah hell, I forgot some more... I also love Jefferson Airplane, The Traveling Wilburys, Garbage, The White Stripes, The Strokes, The Goo Goo Dolls, many more that I can't think of.

I really liked that one. But, then again, I like depressing music.

For all the Sheryl Crow fans, check your listings to see if her episode of SOundstage is playing in your area. It's airing for me on Saturday night and it's supposed to be a two-parter. AND - she's finally going to play Member's Only and Redemption Day for TV, two of my favorite songs.

I thought they sounded a bit Talking Heads, they way the lead singer sings the song.

I have only heard that one song but I really love it!
