Speaking of closers, I had a question for the veteran Mac fans...

When did "Farmer's Daughter" become the closer for their show? (I assumed the Tusk tour.) Has that always been their closer since then, or did they just revive it for the Dance tour?

I remember becoming a fan during The Dance and then heard it on the Live 1980 album, and figured it was always their closer, aside from Songbird. It's an interesting choice, because I thought that it was never released, hence no one would know it and that'd be a weak point to end a show with. But, I think it's the perfect song because it features everyone in the band together in a soft moment.

One thing I really dig about them is their traditions with their shows (Chain-Dreams opener, Songbird closer) but I agree. I would have loved to have seen the rehearsal opening with Eyes of the World. The crowd would have know idea what it was and suddenly it explodes into the song and they go crazy. But then again, I just don't see Chain fitting in anywhere except opening or closing the show, it just wouldn't work in the middle of the set in my opinion.

That's one of those songs that grew on me. I didn't like it at first, now I play it over and over (sure, pun intended. LOL). Did he hold the word, mind, REALLY long like he does on the studio verison?

Get rid of The Chain altogether. Not only is it stale, but the "chain" is not together. It was a special song when it was all five of them, all five writers. Now? There's a link missing from the chain and it don't work like it used to.

Heheh this is a debate which should go into its own thread, but I've always felt that The Chain refers to the music, not the band. This is why it can be played through any Fleetwood Mac unit. I felt odd listening to Lindsey playing it on his solo tour - but then thought about it and realized that he brought his own interpretation, just like they did with the Tango tour, adjusting for new/lost members. I just think that The Chain's come to represent the music period of F-Mac, not necessarily the Rumours line-up/chain sticking together.
