That is true. I've often wondered how that meat stays good in a can...can we say, preservatives? Eeek!

I heard you could use regular noodles, but I've always been too afraid to try that. I'll have to give it a shot. I think lasagna with the no boil noodles may even taste better than when it's made with the boil kind because when the noodles cook in the sauce, they absorb it's flavor. Yeah, it may be a lasagna weekend.

All this talk of lasagna has me intrigued...anyone have a really simple but delicious lasagna recipe? Also, horror of horrors: I've heard of people putting cottage cheese in lasagna instead of ricotta! That is truly beyond comprehension.

It's really very good. I use a 1 lb. box of noodles & 2 jars (26oz each) of sauce (That's right, I use sauce from a jar. Bite me. )

You can put whatever you want in it as far as fillings go, you just want to make sure you put a layer of sauce in between each layer of noodles. Cover it tight & bake it at 350 for an hour.

So the noodles go in dry? My mom used to make it this way, but I never watched her do to it so it always amazed me that she started out with dry noodles. Oh the simple things that amaze me

I use the no boil noodles, almost 2 packages, 2 jars of sauce, a large tub of ricotta and a block of mozzarella. Mix the ricotta with 2 eggs, some romano or parmesan cheese, salt and pepper and some garlic and basil and/or oregano. Layer the noodles, cheese, sauce, and meat if you want it (I use meatballs). The Barilla noodles have some good instructions on the back that I use as a guideline. Bake it covered for 50 min then uncovered for the last 10. I so have to make this now!!!

Anyway.

I'm glad I read this! My bf and I were actually talking about this last night. We were going to make lasagna and someone told us about the noodles you don't have to cook. To think we were going to use them....Thanks!
