I know! I guess she opted out of hormonal therapy. Getting older is a bitch. I hate it. And yes, seeing the men in your life with their young wives and children probably stings. She probably really misses Chris's support at this time because she is probably the only other person who can come close to relating in this situation. Oh Stevie, I'm so sorry if I bitched about the dress and the lackluster perfomances. "Take on the situation, not the torment..."

Though I will never go through menopause, I have no doubt it is brutal.

I am not surprised Stevie brought it up, though. She is very frank, and I love that she said it sucks. Our girl doesn't pull any punches.

My sister is near the same point, and last night told me a funny story about it. She said, "Remember that year that Mom scrubbed the floors constantly, cried a lot, and almost never got dressed ?"
"Who could forget that ? It was like Invasion of the Mom Snatchers, " I replied.
"Well, buster, that was menopause. Count yourself lucky for that chromosome you have and for the fact that you don't have to live with me right now."

We got a great laugh out of this, but I can tell she isn't kidding.

It must be a drag for Stevie. As much as I hooted and hollered over the Dress song parodies (reading and writing them), she has earned the right to do or wear whatever the hell she wants to.

As far as the over fifty guys with young wives and kids - they are about as common as sunshine and SUVs in LA. I am sure she is used to that. That's the script for guys in the industry - hit middle age, dump the old wife, find a young wife, make more babies. To Lindsey's credit - no wife dumping !

Tough time to have to tour. I bet they pull it off anyway.
