Michele, I'm glad you asked about the cover. For the first time ever, and I've known this cover for years, for the first time I can read something into this pic. The mountain in which the car sits is Camelback Mountain in Phoenix. I used to live there so I know what I'm seeing. The 2 skeletons on the left represent Mick and Stevie from the cover of Rumours. John is the next one with his head on the table and the one on the right is Lindsey. Look closely, you will see him and them.

The minute you said that the one had another skeleton on his lap, I took it for Mick and Stevie.
I'm not sure about the other 2 though. That's great about identifying Phoenix. The only thing is, why place Fleetwood Mac in Phoenix? Isn't that more associated with the pre-FM days? Michele |

Ok, Phoenix and the old make of the car seem to put it before Fleetwood Mac.
I would say that the skeleton with the other skeleton in its lap would be Lindsey and Stevie. Also, when this cover was conceived, if it was FM, I don't think Christine would have been left out of the equation. It might be the BN guys Lindsey and Stevie left to join FM. That's why they're in despair. Michele |

There is the really slow "drunk" sounding vocal demo, then there are two fuller demos that sounds more similar and finished. Demo 1 is about 4.40 and Demo 2 is about 4.10. Demo 2's arrangement is more filled out, but the leaked version definitely needs to be mixed better, which makes Demo 1 more finished sounding, I think.

I've heard this demo. It was a real rough version, but I loved what I heard. Lindsey should definitely release it.

I've got three versions, like WeepingWall said. Basicly in one tempo, but maybe he means the one with the contra-reggae-rythm as the fast one. The most incredible one, is the cassette-demo, on which you can hear how he's searching for melody singing bogus-sounds. The way he tend to write songs: one or two guitartracks, and then singing a basic chorus with a kind of decipherable lyricline and on the verses he's just making voicesounds sounding he's on crack. Freakin' mindblowers.
Elle, you've mentioned it several times, but what have I done or said that makes you think that I could have had influence on rerecording She Smiled Sweetly? I really can't remember, or I've blocked it out of my memory??? If I succeeded, here they are... http://www.yousendit.com/download/Ql...Z1BsMHhFQmRVag

i'm lazy to search, and some of it was on the now defunct board, but i seem to recall your insisting on the whole CD being produced in a unified and coherent manner, and not liking the way he did GOS where he just used already recorded and mixed songs from GOS1 and then added newly recorded songs. i seem to recall you telling him this when you met him during GOS tour. i might be wrong?

Ok, that's true, actually. I was talking about the 2008 GOS in general with him. Not about a particular song. I'm still happy with the reworked SSS, as a part of a very consistant and cohesive album. He's good at that if he doesn't pile some songs from widely spread periods together on one disk.
BTW: check your PM's...

That link has a zipped folder. It contains three verslons of Deep Dense. They are numbered 22 23 and 28. Those numbers are from the tracklisting of ŕ collection Called Village recordings.

Deep Dense would be the one I want most to hear. I have loved it since I got a copy of the Village Recorder demos on EBay back before you could find just about anything on the Internet.
