And since this is the Fleetwood Mac forum and not the Stevie forum...If Mick, John, and Lindsey want another Fleetwood Mac they should do it, regardless of what Stevie wants.
Even though a lot of people will disagree, I do feel that LB, MF, and JM should do an album as Fleetwood Mac. If Stevie doesn't want to join them, then that's her loss.
I don't feel like they should get a new member, though.

I get the impression they all feel its time for an album.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Lindsey has kept some songs back for a Mac album - and both he and Stevie are prolific in their songwriting anyway and are probably scribbling away as we're wondering!

That would work for me - but I bet it will never happen, Stevie wouldn't be able to stand it being without her so I reckon it will be the 4 of them in the end!

I just hope a new album wouldn't be like SYW. That left such a bad taste in my mouth.

While I do believe that Fleetwood Mac would lose something without Stevie, as long as we have Lindsey's element they should still produce a quality album.

See, I always adored Say You Will. Aside from Greatest Hits, it was my gateway album to the world of the Mac. It must have been special to make me look deeper into their music than I tend to with other bands I have a slight interest in. That must count for something, with me at least. I don't mind if other people like it or not. I just know that I love it

It's amazing that SYW did that for you. I love stories like that. Me, I was 18 and already deep into the Mac. So SYW was a big letdown.

But still I love your story

Mick

Say You Will is the best American album of the 00s.

To put that in perspective, TITN and Mirage wouldn't even rate for the 80s.

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Think so? I imagine she could stand those men working together without her. Good riddance, I'd imagine she'd say. Although I don't think she would like them calling themselves FM, if they were alone. If they called themselves "The Men of Mac" that would work. She'd probably be glad to have them out of her hair.

What I don't think she could ever stand in a million years is them working with Christine without her. Michele

I think if they wanted to do something without Stevie she'd just chuckle and be like 'suit yourself..' However, as someone else mentioned, if Christine was involved that's a whole 'nother story. But really I think they all know they need Stevie, not to make a great album necessarily, but for the commercial wellbeing of the project. And even aside from that, I don't get the hunch that they have any desire to do a project without her, period. Lindsey already has his solo work which he could easily get John and Mick to do stuff on, the whole point of FM is the five four of them together.

But I think Stevie DOES want to do another Mac album - she is, after all, the one who has been mentioning it (although, I DO think her comments are arbitrary and the press is just running with them... I certainly don't think any definite plans have been made, as all of these articles seem to imply). There's no reason not to, apparently she and Lindsey are on great terms [right now] and she keeps talking about wanting to go back into the studio and record asap.

I hope they do another last kick ass album. I have a sneaky suspicion Christine will come back because she has had long enough out of the fold. I feel her decision will be based on how much the four want her back, It will take alot of persuasion.

Three years is pretty short between tours. so maybe album first unless that rumours reissuerepackage gets released. wow. What a shame that 2009 special edition of Rumours wasn't available in time for the 2011 Glee episode.

That's the thing, though... do spotlight hogs Buckingham and Nicks really want her back? Do you think they'll even try after her bowing out of Say You Will? Lindsey kept using the saying "burned bridges" after Say You Will after all.

Exactly! Christine's leaving opened up the setlist to include more of Stevie and Lindsey's material instead of each just getting to do what 7 or so songs. As with both album/tour there would be smaller pieces of the pie for the other four if Christine would return for anything.

Of course, the argument could be made that the pie itself would be bigger if an reunited Fleetwood Mac were to make another album or tour again.
