I like GaGa, not enough to buy her albums. I wanted to view this video because I knew everyone would be talking about it and I wanted to be informed. I won't watch it again. It grossed me out in the birthing parts and I'm not fond of this song. She can't dance to save her life. Like HolidayRoad, I was thinking, "put some clothes on."
She oughtta take dancing lessons from Madonna.

Is it me or does the dancing not match at all with the flow of the song?

The whole point of the video is about the birth of a race that was absolutely free in every way, so Gaga freeballing is totally appropriate.
In this case, since the video is about being 'free', I guess I could have understood wearing less. Still, it's not just this video or this appearance, it's almost always. I understand about wearing close fitting clothes for dance. It doesn't almost always have to be underwear though!

Something like what Madonna is wearing here (from the Papa Don't Preach vid)would show a dancer's form and line and still be decent.

Well, admittedly Madonna didn't quite have a dancer's body yet in 1986; she was still a bit soft. Hence, the modesty. Plus she was going for some kind of demure 1950s retro vibe around this time with the capri leggings, Marilyn Monroe locks, etc. It wasn't until, like, 20 years later when she had the dancer's body and was spreading her legs open in nothing but a purple leotard.

But I'm doing it.

There are Madonna homages, so if you're a Gaga hater looking for reasons to pick the video apart, you might just wanna move on...

I don't love everything Madonna wears either. Lady GaGa's style of dress wouldn't bother me quite as much if she wore some kind of short shorts/booty shorts instead of the underwear/bikini bottoms. Even an outfit like in this pic would be an improvement.

I find GaGa to be extremely sexy. Not because she wears practically nothing, but because she's so fearless and obviously loves her work. This was a risky song to put out as the first single to her new album. It's not in the same line as her previous efforts ('Bad Romance', 'Poker Face', 'Telephone') and it's definitely a grower. I didn't care for the track after the first listen, but after a few more, it grew on me extremely fast. I find it soulful, rejoicing, liberating, and the video just sealed the awesomeness factor for me!
