Gee. I guess that means you didn't see Fleetwood Mac on the 1977 Rumours tour!

Nope, 'fraid not! I haven't ever seen them in concert ... YET!!

Stevie did play Dublin four days before I was born, though. Tis a sign.

But seriously, it's not that big a deal. For crying out loud. I'm 16 and I don't remember what happened this morning. It's just a blur of swirling pixie dust and English class. Then again, you know what too much tv does...
I'm surprissed you're only 16. Youre quite knowledgeable for someone your age.

Not when a professional and you have thousands of people paying hundreds of dollars to watch you perform a good show.

I have a hardtime remembering anything nowadays (Thanks to neurological problems which are slowly worsening), except for music related info..."Isnt that weird?"

I see your point. After all she is singing songs she herself wrote. She should be able to remember her own lyrics. And, as someone already pointed out..its the same songs over and over, year after year. Now if Stevie was singing songs written by others.....Anyway, I don't have a problem with her using the teleprompter.

Uh, hence the teleprompter. I'm guessing the folks who paid hundreds of dollars to be there would rather Stevie glance at a cheat sheet and give a good performance than have her stand up there and flub the words.

Hmm, I didn't notice her having trouble "keeping up", in fact I was pleased to hear her taking her time with the song. I thought she was in really good voice, and I didn't realize she had forgotten any lyrics. This solo artist is a vocalist, and the band is there to accompany her- which they do very well!

What a crap thing to have printed! I've been scouring the papers the day after the medal hoping to see and article and photo...

what a shame that the newspaper have said this. She may of had a teleprompter, but i never saw her look down once! And what a load of bollix that she couldn't keep up with it! She sings it her style, obviously the journo doesn't know anything about her!

I'm definitely with you on this one. I mean, what difference could a teleprompter possibly make to her performance apart from a positive one?

they're all morons anyway...teleprompters don't mean anything other than the fact that you are apt to rearrange verses and/or forget exactly which part comes next, especially when you have a habit of ad libbing as Stevie does...and especially at televised functions where time is money it's important

Barbra uses them as do many, many other singers most wouldn't believe

I mean, even our President uses them...well...that's another story

And he still manages to screw up - even though his script is probably phonetic. "Nu-CLEE-ar."

Yes, many performers use them, ALL the time. I think Stevie gets extra "fretted out" when she's on TV, and is probably really happy that it's there. And she's only human, everyone gets brain farts occasionally.

I can understand why she did, yes though its a bit strange for one song, BUT she would of been nervous as, the stage was right up over people , really close to the patrons, full of strangers faces in another country, no warm up, no fans, just stuck up there with a "start now" prompt. I agree that it is more of a security blanket... she doesn't have to worry coz just in case something happens to throw her off she knws thats there to help her out. Though i will say again, i never saw her look at it anyway! In facti have never seen her look at one, thats why i didn't even know she had one till recently!
