I can't, either. The Wilson sisters kick ass, we all know this, but next to Blondie? Pffffft.

I must tell you how saddened I am to see Johnny Cash losing. It breaks my icy little heart.

Americans dear. No sense of culture only sense for iconography. A sensibility for broad accepted icons, I mean. Imago.

Madonna beat Kate Bush. They don't even know her most of the time. That's choosing for a topdesigner of mediahypes over a born singer-composer-talent. Typical. Prince beating Jimi is another example. That's choosing for a brilliant copy-paste-artist who designs everything he does and is to the details over an pure original straight from the guts writing and playing rock-and-roll animal.
Johnny Cash won against Elvis, though. An exception that underlines the rule. Who did you vote that round?

Oh, and if we were goin' by looks I would pick the following as the sexiest female lead singer (Better picture than the one I posted earlier):

Cristina Scabbia: A goth-metaller, a great vocalist, An Italian and absolutely sexy!!! What more could a guy like me ask for???

I love Madonna, but she's all style and no substance. How she won is a mystery.

No! He's now losing. Let's start the Save Johnny campaign. We cannot stand for this injustice, Gerald.

Precisely. I adore Heart, always have and always will, but they just don't stack up artistically or aesthetically next to Blondie.

But we're just bitter old hags, Sharon.

Really? I can't imagine a better time for music. Blondie, Talking Heads, Television, Patti Smith, The Ramones, The Dead Boys, etc. It makes me sad to think of how great music was then compared to the **** we get now.

Your dad's right. But impact also is about image. Chuck Berry had more rock'n'roll than Elvis IMO. But his impact is not to discuss.

was great, Nowadays when a band like Green Day are called "punk" (Usually by musically uneducated emo-teens) I have to laugh, Cause these "emo-punk-wannabe's" have NUTHIN' to do with the original punk attitude, And they couldnt touch the Ramones in attitude, sheer musical genius and pure honesty in approach any day of the week...Especially if that day ends in the letter "y"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My older sister Lesa has turned me onto her punk music as of late (Weird that a girl from Oklahoma who moved to California became a punk woman....But seeing how my family is I am not surprised!) and I like what I have heard

And voting for Heart is voting for born singer composer talent.

Yes dear. I said that: Americans have a sensibilty for image, not for culture.
I don't think that the heart-blondie-result was very unexpected though. Dreamboat Annie is a 100% masterpiece made by great talented singer-songwriters. You are overreacting again, because you think that I despise what I did not vote for. Americans think in black and white. Cool you're good at that. I will not discuss that. Especially not with you. But Blondie simply gave a lot more to the culture of music then Heart did. Or Fleetwood Mac did. Or the Eagles did. I'm not saying I hate that music. Come and have a look in my collection.

hmm, you'll probably can't read the names on the CD's.
