Your favourite albums by decade: the 70s

[shackin'up]

1. Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel-Face to Face (best live-album ever)
2. Fischer-Z - Word Salad
3. Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffitti
4. Lou Reed- Coney Island Baby
5. Mother's Finest- Another Mother Further
6. Black Sabbath- Master of Reality
7. Peter Gabriel- any of his untitled ones, but OK, the first.
8. AC/DC- If you want blood you've got it
9. The Police- Outlandos D'amour
10. Ted Nugent- Double Live Gonzo!

I was very much into live-albums.....so I put in a bunch.

But for me this is impossible. There's so much I left off that should be there.
Patti smiths' Horses should be , and the Kick inside....The Wall? Oh gerald shame on you....

Oh, and did I ever mention the fact that Tusk is the best album ever recorded by anyone? just to put things in perpective....

Mother's Finest? No ****?

You probably know this, but did you know that the bass player in Mother's Finest played bass for Stevie on the greatest tour she ever did? I always wanted to track down Mother's Finest albums but never did.

Too many to list, but I'll try. Even though it will be more than ten.

1. Blondie - Plastic Letters/Eat To the Beat
2. Talking Heads - '77/Fear of Music (Honorable mention to More Songs About Buildings and Food simply because it has "Artist's Only")
3. Television - Marquee Moon
4. David Bowie - Aladdin Sane/Station To Station/Low
5. Emmylou Harris - Elite Hotel/Luxury Liner
6. Patti Smith - Horses (Easter, surprisingly, is my least favorite album of hers)
7. Bonnie Raitt - Bonnie Raitt/Sweet Forgiveness
8. The Pretenders - Pretenders
9. Lou Reed - Transformer
10. Bette Midler - The Rose soundtrack

That was released in 1980, I believe. The three lead singles came out in 79, but the record came out in 1980.

yeah, i own everything they ever released. I did not know that Wyzzard played bass with stevie. On what tour? He's a MONSTER. If you like Red Hot Chili Peppers and/or Living Colour you should listen to their amazing come-back album "Black Radio Won't Play This Record". The best soul-metal-album ever made. Their live-album "Subluxation" kicks ass too.

Sh*t. Live and dangerous should have been in my list too. Same for
Van Halen I. I play that one a lot even nowadays....

Your led zepchoices I'm fond of too, although I prefer III and even more: physical grafitti. That one is not a lot in these lists, which I think is pretty amazing cause I've always looked at that one as their ultimate masterpiece....

Yep, it's 1980. What about Tap Root Manuscript though? That's pretty good too and that was released in 1970.
