Aw, that is sad. I will never understand some people. I hope Gypsy makes it too. Were you able to catch or confront the people who did it at all?

She is a yellow lab. I will post pics as soon as i figure out how. She is very sweet and getting cuter by the day as she heals. First round of treatment today and she may be able to be released from the vet hospital Wed. Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts!

I'll never understand how people can be so cruel.
BEST wishes for your pup.

I live in Birmingham, AL
My parents live in Tuscaloosa (home of University of AL)
The dog was in a place called York, AL (home of probably nothing)

They say a traveler was passing through town and saw the dog, and called a rescue service and donated like $200 to get the dog picked up. This rescue service, called TEARS, placed the ad. My parents are trying to find the traveler to thank her. No luck yet.

I hope that all goes well for Gypsy. I can't understand how someone could hurt a poor animal. I think anyone who could needs some serious help.

If anyone ever harmed a pet of mine, they'd meet the business end of a baseball bat.

Oh my gosh, that is so horrible to hear that they would do that to a poor innocent dog.

I'll be sure to keep Gypsy in my thoughts and prayers.

Day 2 Gypsy still at hospital but doing ok, everyone remarking about how sweet she is. She may get released tomorrow if all keeps going well. Then a 2 month exercise restriction, and retest and possibly another treatment.

But my parents say, if she can make it through this, she will live the good life!

They are empty nesters with one lab already spoiled, and gypsy is their second.

Oh, that is great news! Here's hoping for a full recovery! Things sound very promising, .
